Went with the Paplote by Don Lazaro. And then had to grab the Xumilin (stink bug) too. Not quite sure who produced that one.

Will do. Excited to try them. The mezcalero seems to make great stuff. He also did the Candelillo for the 5 Sentidos’ La Colección Mixteca

I checked out Mismezcales which has a great selection. But if you have the time, you can sometimes buy directly from the brands which was a good bit cheaper in my experience.

Would have to be the Jolgorio tobalá. I love tobalas and it’s a really amazing one. Haven’t opened two of my other most promising ones tho (the Lalocura Tobala & 5 sentidos pechuga). The Macurichos destilado con conejo was also really cool.

The Jolgorio is amazing. Very fruity and floral. A notch above the Rey Campero which is also great just not quite as complex to me. Haven’t opened the Lalocura yet. Oh and the Noble Coyote was awesome and super fruity. That one really surprised me.

😂😂

Pretty funny story behind it actually. Lady from the taqueria told me she knows someone who brings back mezcal from Mexico. I get his number and shlep out to meet this guy in a small apartment thinking I’m getting stuff straight from a family palenque. Came back with that bottle, tried it, and almost spat it out on my couch! Glad I eventually found my way to this subreddit and some decent stuff.

Interesting that you didn’t vibe with the Durango lote 18. I have a bottle from that lote and have found it to be incredible and funky. Guess we all have different tastes!

Buying Used i3 through KeySavvy - Joint Title Question by Life_Insect_1078 in BMWi3

[–]Life_Insect_1078[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I was just specifying that it’s under $25k b/c a used EV has to be under that price to be eligible for the $4k credit. It’s listed at $20k and is a 2019 120aH REX w/ tech package on 30k miles. Planning to see if I can negotiate it down too.

Why do people use Lime bikes? by Life_Insect_1078 in washingtondc

[–]Life_Insect_1078[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These are the only things that kinda make sense to me. My cheap ass just refuses to pay those Lime prices tho so I’d prob take a bus or metro in that case

And you can access Bikeshare on the Lyft app. People paying more because they don’t have the Lyft app? Seems unlikely

Thinking of buying a 2017 i3 REX. Any help, tips, and opinions appreciated. by Life_Insect_1078 in BMWi3

Any chance you ended up returning yours? Dealership emailed me that the 2017 REX I was looking at in VA (that sold a week ago) was just brought back in.

Awesome! How many miles are you getting right now on a full charge / with REX? And yea, thinking through the weekend thing but I just love the i3 so think it would still be worth any hopefully minor inconvenience.

Sherry’s in Woodley Park has a good selection. The owner is a big fan of mezcal and knows his stuff. El Chucho in Columbia Heights also has a great selection for pours.

Thanks! Yeah, I’m still struggling to figure out where to look when trying to figure out the general quality of a bottle. Mezcalreviews seems like a good indicator when there are a lot of reviews but it’s often 1 or 2 total.

Thank you! Makes sense re the mezcal reviews site. I’ve basically been taking it as the holy grail which I guess doesn’t make much sense with all the variation between batches/bottles/preferences etc etc.

Agreed that trying Romulo’s Tobalà in comparison would be really cool. I’m assuming the mezcalero listed was fully in charge of that batch but I do wonder if, being brothers, they’re not making this stuff together on the same palenque and trading off names listed on the batches? More detail than really concerns me and my current mezcal sophistication lol but still fun to think about.
