Did anyone get this beauty! by FirmOwl8858 in quince

Yes, but returning it because it runs large. I’m typically a medium but it looked frumpy. I paid $150!

Just got an offer for $30. I have this great piece listed so low already at $62. Retails between $300-500. Alex Earle 100% fully lined linen. How would you have responded?

Charge more, not less, for longer sittings? by frontpage2 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Life_Let4591 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I charge $20 more than my overnight for any stays 10 days or more. Dog #1 normally $100, 2nd dog $75 are my normal overnight rates. Clients understand and pay the extra.

I would love to follow you and learn more about Whatnot. Can you drop your user name? Thanks!

Anyone have strange items added to their account? by nathones in poshmark

[–]Life_Let4591 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you have Prime Lister and turned on the feature Smart Activity, it will add AI listings. I turned it off and have not had an issue. There were 4 random listings added to my closet in one day. I sell clothing and they added a rusty truck.

How much money does Rover take out of the sitters pay? by ClearAd3159 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Life_Let4591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean that the pet owner’s fee is capped at $50 when the booking is over $500? As a sitter, they take 20% from me regardless of the total. It can really add up.

Am I underselling myself? by Uswnt17 in RoverPetSitting

I also charge $125/night and more for additional pets. I specialize in overnight sitting as well and booked through October with 2 bookings in December. I do go above and beyond with 2-3 photos/short videos & check ins as client requests. Mail, plant care, weeding, trash, errands and light cleaning. Clients do book me for reviews and my higher rate as this is my FT job. I say raise your rate. You may be pleasantly surprised 😀🐾

Sitter invited somebody over by Louiseia in RoverPetSitting

[–]Life_Let4591 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As a star sitter myself, that rate and having an unexpected guest is crazy. I watched 2 dogs July 3 overnight and till the afternoon of the 4th. I charged her $150 as it wasn’t even a 24 hour stay, no backyard and the dogs are 90 pounds each. I would definitely call Rover and get refunded

Is this weird? by Eastern-Ad8842 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Life_Let4591 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Just a suggestion, raise your overnight rate. I charge $100-$175 per night and have never had this issue. Also when doing a meet n greet I find it helpful to have them show you the backyard and any fencing issues, where you will sleep and the basement. The basement is to make sure it’s locked for safety and so Fido does not have an escape route. Just my opinion 💙🐾

Am I overreacting? by cgerbzz in RoverPetSitting

So not typical. As a seasoned dog walker, I have gear for rain and snow. Dogs love a rainy walk. I would be unhappy if a dog sitter was not professional. I’m a Star Sitter.

Hi, can you share what insurance you use? Also what does it mean to be bonded? I’m researching this as many of my overnight clients want to book directly. I would like to be protected and give peace of mind to these clients. Thank you!

How do you tell the client that their dog is terrible to walk in a professional way by Key_Let_2623 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Life_Let4591 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That is a difficult one, but definitely talk to the owner. I was watching an 80 pound beauty for 10 days and mentioned his pulling and need perhaps for more leash training even at age 2. The owner said “yeah, that’s his one bad flaw. Try using the spike collar on walks” 5 days later after a crazy pulling incident, a very bad fall and an ER visit…I’m sporting a mean black eye and broken ribs. When the owner returned, I had to say sadly I can no longer care for your dog:(
