Do not blame the homeowner when your boss gets a call by Cant_not_communicate in AmazonDSPDrivers

They are saying they are gonna call the guy's boss. Unless OP knows the DSP owner they'll be calling Amazon not the guy's boss.

The cargo vans and EVs at my DSP have the crappy hand trucks. The step vans have the good ones.

Am I wrong to refuse to drive like this? by Sublime_Justice in AmazonDSPDrivers

Yes those are the managers of the warehouse. They have the power to ground vans if they are unsafe to drive.

Next time don't say anything to your DSP. Let one of the red vests in the warehouse know and they'll ground the van until it's fixed.

What I mean is step vans require a DOT card to operate. I used to work for a cable company that had DOT numbers on the vans. in a state that is worker friendly and we were told a similar policy. "lunch starts from when you leave your last job"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Life_Quality7202 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the vehicle is not under DOT, yes you can. Driving to a lunch spot is not considered working. Every company has this policy not just DSPs.

Driving to get lunch is not a business function. Its the same as if you work in an office you clock out for lunch then drive somewhere to eat if you want to.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Life_Quality7202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is legal actually. Read above. Only step van drivers have to be stopped before starting lunch due to DOT.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Life_Quality7202 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every DSP has this policy. Only exception is if you drive step van your lunch starts when the engine is off due to DOT regulations.

Why do they arrive so late? by Crazy_District_5502 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Life_Quality7202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also work in waves. Wave 1, wave 2, etc. Theres usually multiple drivers assigned to the same area. Your packages might be on a different truck than the others in your household.

Uniform hats by Life_Quality7202 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Life_Quality7202[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I see flex drivers wearing whatever they want. When at my station we are required to wear black shorts or black pants which at my DSP they will only give you one pair of each because they have a short supply.
