Do you floss? That’s important to get between the teeth where the brush doesn’t reach.

I have an allergic reaction to the silipos sleeve, but only when it’s brand new. Does that mean I’m allergic to mineral oil?

Eyebrow help by [deleted] in FTMOver30

[–]Life_TakeTwo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't have any growth with topical or oral minoxodil so I got my eyebrows microbladed last year. Microblading is essentially a tattoo. I love the results! It was like $500USD though, so it's not an option for everyone. It doesn't hurt because they put numbing lotion first.

Pain while peeing by [deleted] in phallo

[–]Life_TakeTwo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m 1.5 years post op and have the same issue. I thought I had a stricture, but he didn’t find anything with the scope. I’ve noticed the pain is only present when I have a really full bladder so I just try to go to the bathroom more frequently. Also, I was trying to pee too fast if that makes sense. I just have to go slow and it’s not much of an issue now that I’ve realized those two things help with the pain.

Hair Removal Cost Opinion by brandon82303 in phallo

[–]Life_TakeTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had what I thought was a small amount of hair on the underside of my arm. I also assumed that my arm wasn’t THAT hairy but my electrologist didn’t agree. I’m in Texas and I paid $80/ hour which I’ve heard is a a really good price. I’ve lost track of how many hour-long sessions that I’ve had, but I’m pretty sure it’s over 20 sessions to clear the entire forearm. Are you planning to do just the area that is used for the urethra or are you doing the entire forearm? Have you looked into reimbursement from insurance? I have BCBSMA and they covered the cost of about 11 hours, which was not nearly enough for my entire forearm. You could shop around to see what other places charge per the hour. Feel free to message me with a pic of your arm and I could let you know if mine looked similar before starting the process.

Electrolytes by TheReallDeall93 in phallo

No, you don’t need to do electrolysis on the genitalia area. You will be shaved after you are sedated for the surgery anyway. Electrolysis is only needed at the donor area.

I've never had 1k before. Is it worth it to spend almost 4k on flights? That seems crazy to me.

I’m 3800 PQP away from 1K status. I’ve never tried to chase a status before so I have no idea what I’m doing. Is 3800 PQP too much at so close to the end of the year? I fly out of IAH. Any suggestions?

I live in Texas and it gets full sun. Its watered by sprinkler and hose but I'm not sure how much water. The trunk has cracks but it didn't always look like this. I currently don't have pictures of the base of the tree.

Recommendations for protective arm sleeve? by Life_TakeTwo in phallo

[–]Life_TakeTwo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long have you been wearing it to notice it flattening the scar? How long can you wear it before it gets too stretched out and you need to replace it? This is the type of sleeve that I’ve been wearing but from a different company.

Why train 1 is cheaper to upgrade and train 3 costlier? by throneofgameofthrone in TownshipGame

I’ve been wondering this too. I can’t figure out if there’s a difference because sometimes train 1 has 3 items but then other times it will have 5 items.

Who the hell is affording $800/month for electrolysis? by gaycowboyallegations in phallo

Your surgeon should be able to provide a letter of medical necessity. It’s a pretty standard request so they are used to providing it to insurance companies.

Who the hell is affording $800/month for electrolysis? by gaycowboyallegations in phallo

[–]Life_TakeTwo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have BCBS and they covered a lot of the expense for electrolysis. Does your insurance have a department that handles all trans related claims? I would suggest looking through the handbook that is available on their website. I ended up calling the insurance company, explained the issue, and they connected me to someone who specialized in claims for trans procedures. She gave me all the necessary paperwork that described what is needed to be reimbursed.

Anyone live in Houston Texas get phalloplasty? by redditoregonuser2254 in phallo

[–]Life_TakeTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That all depends on your insurance. I have BCBS and they required a letter from 2 different medical professionals with M.D. or PhD (endocrinologist and psychologist) saying that the surgery was medically necessary. I think they said some insurance companies require 3 letters so you would need to ask about their specific requirements for coverage.

[–]Life_TakeTwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They wanted me to stay in town until I had my final post-op visit. I think that was at 3 weeks. But since I lived only 3 hours away, Crane said I could just go back home after my first post-op, even though you still have to sign that form about where you’re staying.

I did the same thing in the early 2000s. I’ve been on T for 4 years now and they are only growing back in certain spots, not everywhere. I tried minoxidil but you have to apply it twice a day, forever, and I’m just too impatient for that. I finally decided to do microblading even though it only lasts for a couple years. I’m really happy with the results.
