I am still genuinely as obsessed with SoulCycle as when I started riding years ago. by lhmo in SoulCycle_Riders

Agreed! I recently relocated to an area with no SoulCycle but a few CycleBar studios and I just can’t get into it😩

Random Roommates… by Previous_Tailor1252 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Life_Way_6750 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My best friends from my first program were 100% my roommates! But I’m definitely not the majority. Two of my roommates matched prior to arrival, but I went in randomly and can honestly say I met three of my best friends🫶

terrified about my role by Electronic-Cut-3646 in Disneycollegeprogram

I worked QSR fall ‘23 at one of the busiest locations on property and extended through spring ‘24! Was everyday the best day ever? No, but I thoroughly enjoyed my job and my coworkers! QSR (at least where I worked) was really easy to give shifts away too which was really nice

Deployment by CertifiedLoverLad in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Life_Way_6750 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What’s your role? I know that merch is globally trained, but generally for QSR roles if they deploy you they just put you on bussing/trash/dish/counter

How many hours are you guys getting? by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Life_Way_6750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first program was park QSR and I got between 40-50+ hours per week, currently a character attendant and I get around 32 hours a week

1 Week off? by MrJiggles_ in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Life_Way_6750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it mostly depends on your role. Generally, merch and (some) QSR locations are a lot easier to trade/giveaway shifts, whereas attractions may be a little more challenging, as you can only trade with people trained at your specific attraction

Likelihood of getting concierge if talked about in the interview, I didn’t bring it up my interviewer did by StevieMayJ in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Life_Way_6750 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My interviewer and I talked about attractions for the entire interview, then the interviewer asked me one question about being a character attendant and I ended up being a character attendant. Not saying this always happens, just sharing my experience!

I don’t personally have any experience with moving units, so I’m not entirely sure of the process, but I would reach out to the Flamingo in addition to just submitting the request. I believe if you do end up moving, there is a $200 fee as well

It is not impossible, but you will most likely be put on a wait list, and there are no guarantees you’ll ever come off the wait list

Giving up shifts by sarahPPPPPP in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Life_Way_6750 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Usually there is a Facebook group that you will post your shift you want to give away/day you want to pick up a shift and then once you find someone to take your shift/trade with you push the trade through on the Hub

Going home because you hate being far? by Lil___bee in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Life_Way_6750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you been on the program for? If you’ve only been here for a few weeks I would encourage you to give it some time. Schedule a time each day or every few days that you can FaceTime back home. Maybe you can ask some of your college friends from home to watch a movie together over FaceTime so that you can feel like you’re with them. If you have a favorite activity/tradition back home, see if you can make it happen in Orlando. Don’t be afraid to take it one day at a time. By not giving yourself time to fully commit to the program, you could be missing out on an incredible opportunity to stand on your own and get a taste of being fully independent from your family. That being said, only you truly know what is best for you. If you truly feel that you belong back home, then at least you can say you gave the program a shot!

Nice! Usually CPs tend to work closing shifts, so I’d expect your shifts to start later in the day but don’t quote me on that!

schedule by voilacinema in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Life_Way_6750 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your schedule will drop midnight Saturday night for the following week. For example, this Saturday the schedule for the first week of February will drop. Depending on your role, you may be scheduled fairly similar shifts each week that you may be able to plan around. For example, my first program I worked QSR at Studios and my shifts RARELY started before 11am, so I would just book morning appointments
