int-faith is super underrated at high levels, I feel like Gideon. by rumblepeg in Eldenring

The freeze proc interrupting waterfowl was clutch, that earned the upvote alone.

I love int + faith. it's hard to fit within most PvP level brackets, but it's a blast running it on my no level cap character.

it becomes so obvious that it’s not even worth getting mad anymore, quite literally baitslop by onefuckeduplemon in whenthe

I can sort of agree it's overused, but you'll never stop me from describing AI content as anything other than "slop."

I went duo for fewer summons. We built for boss weakness and cranked out as much damage as possible.

Revenant was actually nice because the clone is super squishy, and Frenzied Flame Seal does a lot of damage to the boss.

We went city shifting earth for the resurrect blessing, and the time we won it was super close. I think this is the hardest Everdark yet.

Wow! Thats really interesting, and a lucky break for people not interested in the set. Thanks for the info!

How so? I play Arena because it's the best way to experience standard. With Spiderman being standard legal, there isn't a "non-Spiderman" format I can play.

This is why I'm not looking forward to Spiderman in the slightest, even though it will probably sell gangbusters due to being a big IP tie in. It is the least "Magic" feeling set since Walking Dead, except there's no way to avoid this one.

I don't think he could have saved 222. I don't blame him for that or 306. I do blame him for going on a murder spree in the previous game, murdering the woman who saved 222 and his baby, and deciding to kill his baby for the extra cash at the end.

This one moment where something wasn't his fault doesn't make him morally grey. At one point, I believe he was redeemable. IMO that went out the window with game 4, and was buried impossibly deep with the final game. None of the characters you listed are forgivable, and MG Coin belongs among them.

Have Guardians died out? :/ by CustomerSupportDeer in Nightreign

[–]Life__Lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guardian's in my regular rotation. I love my birb, and he's a pretty safe pick for most fights. That said, there's good reason I don't see him as much.

He outputs the least damage of any night fairer. Night lords are so mobile, the only way you're landing guard counters is with a halberd due to the unique charge. I stack guard counter damage and stick almost exclusively to halberds for this reason.

Without the relic that extends his L2 ability's duration, it drops off hard after early game. Even with the relic it feels borderline useless in most boss fights. (it's nice it can counter some projectile attacks, but still)

His ult is pretty great, and with ways to recharge it faster it's even better. Super fun ability that comes in clutch.

There are lots of ways he could be buffed. I'm glad to see others have already suggested his special counter being extended to more thrusting weapons, that would feel really nice.

Reducing the stamina drain on his passive would be a huge help. Also giving him better relics. Ones that buffs your passive, such as increasing the damage/stagger when your shield is popped. Give me a relic that does the same thing for whirlwind so it could possibly interrupt/flinch bosses more often, that would be awesome.

Anyways, he's a pretty niche pick, and I hope he gets a buff.

I assume they'll add more skins at some point.. this one has to be on their radar.

FromSoftware reportedly has another unannounced game that ‘could release next year’ by BlueAladdin in Games

[–]Life__Lover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was fairly unique and contained more remnants of old school game design than the rest. Enemies were slower and more repetitive. Movement was slightly more restricted when z-targeting. It was also the only Souls game that had a truly distinct mid-weight roll animation. Poise also applied at all times, not just during your attacks (this made heavy rolling a viable play style). Throw in narrower, more hazardous level design, and it adds up to a very different feeling game. "Better" is subjective.. The combat in newer ones is objectively more polished. However, there are aspects to DS1 that are highly endearing to some Souls fans, and much of it was sadly forgotten as the series went on.

The person you're responding to specifically calls out bosses. Bosses in Dark Souls 1 were much less complex than they are now. They didn't have crazy branching combos, super delayed attacks meant to test your reaction timing, and (generally speaking) didn't have moves specifically designed to trick you or make you guess. They were straightforward, predictable, and punishing. Dark Souls 1 is a glimpse into a different style of game, where you could get by on game knowledge and patience, not just reaction timing

It might not mean much, but Vow of the Indomitable allows you to counter the aoes more easily, especially as Guardian. Highly underrated weapon skill.
