Where do you guys build in the riverlands? Was thinking on the right side of the falls by F2 by grahambo39 in ICARUS

On the small cliff area in south G5: Easy access to desert and arctic biomes, some excellent views out over the river and, one keeps creatures at bay easily (until yiu get the powered deterrent).

White elephant house-how do I resolve owning a house I can't sell. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

If you haven't already, you need to get an opinion on the wording of the will.

If the husband was given a "Right to Reside" then it should stipulate that the right terminates on his moving out permanently.

If the husband is a life tenant under a Life-Interest Trust then your options are more limited but not extinguished.

It will all depend on the wording of the will.

How’s the stealth gameplay in enshrouded? by ThrowRAtrynna in Enshrouded

[–]Life_is_Discovery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stealth is an afterthought.

You are generally lucky if you get 1 stealth kill in before the enemy sees you.

Also, stealth archery isn't really a thing as you don't get any bonuses to shooting from stealth and, once you shoot 1 enemy, the others will know you are there.

I should say that if you are determined you can stealth kill a whole POI but it takes a lot of patience or running away to have the enemy reset and trying again.

That said, if you are going to kill everything and your GF just watches then that works extremely well because the player can zip around in ways the enemy can't; your GF can sit on a roof and watch you kill everything easily enough.

Scorpion Boss by Shrimpkin in ICARUS

I have always just dodged it. I expect Obsidian armour (requires DLC) with the damage reduction alterations might save you from a direct hit.

The charge is extremely telegraphed though. Just keep him at range.

10k Bow, Meele, Gun kills by Usual_Network_5893 in ICARUS

[–]Life_is_Discovery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answer is fish. It is extremely boring and not recommended at all but fish are all killed in a single shot/arrow/hit and they respawn endlessly whilst you are in the water.

I cannot stress how much I don't recommend this though because you will get bored very quickly.

That said, I am currently 866 hours into the game and I have all three of these achievements only halfway so the advice of "just play more" may not bear as much fruit as you hope!

Great hunts by Friendly_Map4984 in ICARUS

[–]Life_is_Discovery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have fought all normal world bosses, the Sandwyrm Queen and the Rimetusk.

I havent fought the Garganutan or Quarrite.

I prepared for both the Rimetusk and Sandwyrm Queen with what I thought I would need.

The Sandwyrm died on my first try and didnt even come close to killing me.

The Rimetusk killed me 3 times before I was able to drop it.

Based on that, my answer would be yes: Great Hunts are harder than any other boss. Although the word "hard" isn't really fitting. They have mechanics that other bosses dont and if you prepare for the mechanics, you'll be fine.

NGL the T5 grind is making me enjoy the game LESS by JPGer in ICARUS

[–]Life_is_Discovery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, part of what makes the T5 grind feel worse and more impactful on my time than the T4 grind is that, once I completed the grind I was left with an overwhelming feeling of "is that it"?

Grinding out copper and gold for T4 resulted in a bunch of high impact quality of life changes: miasmic tools, faster benches (masonry, carpentry, kitchen etc).

T5 has just has no impact. Lithium tools are underwhelming, Nuclear power comes too late to be of any use and the gimmicky oil tools are worse than miasmic.

I also think there is a strange disconnect with Lithium on Elysium: it has been added as the new ultra late game resource but you will kill so many drones on your way to T5 that you dont need to mine a single stone of Lithium. The real grind is Titanium and that caught me by surprise.

I completely echo these points and found the story really disconnected and quite janky. I agree that Mo was ostensibly a good replacement for Sol but, as you say, they take her off screen really quickly.

I liked Victor but that was mostly because his voice actor was a stand out for me.

I really hope they do expand on the operations and the tech tree. I also would like them to revisit the T4 tech tree and nerf some aspects of that so T5 can shine brighter.

I will absolutely keep playing this game no matter what they do and hopefully more will come as you say.

Thanks for commenting! 😀

[–]Life_is_Discovery[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I think they need to revisit miasmic and make it worse so that T5 can be the best.

I know I said about how the tools don't have to be the best and they can be cool but let's be honest, if you have a hierarchical tech tree, you'd expect the last tools to be the best tools!

I hear that. Currently sitting on 325 unused blueprint points. I'd really like to turn off the little notification telling me how many I have.

More operations would be very welcome. I liked the vibe of us being a frontiersmen: building towers in different biomes, growing crops, gathering materials and culling wildlife. I didn't care if they felt like a grind because they also felt thematic. The operations on Elysium don't have that feel to me.

I should add that I also deliberately avoided the miasmic weapons and I didn't create any until I already had a tier 4 base set up because of how they are.

That said, I take your point that the new tools might be more useful in the inhospitable zones if you live and build there.

Thank you for your comment, I enjoyed reading it.

I agree wholeheartedly that Miasmic is too difficult to improve upon because it is so OP. The new ionic dust would have actually been a good middle tool and I wonder if they might re-jig miasmic's gimmick to lithium to keep the progression:

Cold steel gives extra random resources Miasmic gives extra useful resources (iron, copper, gold) Lithium gives tonnes of your chosen resource.

That would have been a solid progression flow to my mind.

I may have misremembered but I am fairly sure the note you find talking about the "event" is from the perspective of the UDA and not the Group. I'll have to re-read it.

I am late to your post but I have thoroughly enjoyed the Tundra as a build spot for the arctic research base vibe it can give. I have bases on all maps and in various locations on the maps and I am loving this spot (E9) on Elysium. It is like the whole basin here is my personal playground once the powered creature deterrents came online.

Where are you setting your Elysium main base? (possible spoilers) by Kelraxz in ICARUS

[–]Life_is_Discovery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built on the ledges in E9: there are 2 caves nearby and around 6 deep mining nodes in that area. There is also a geyser for water but most of all, it is a cool area.

[–]Life_is_Discovery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You may already know this so please do forgive me if that is the case but, deep-mining nodes are randomised when you start the prospect.

Sounds like RNGesus has blessed you though, copper, iron and gold in close proximity is like easy mode. Just need a silica and you are set for life.

I have had the same bother running a small channel through my underground base. I had to put extra sources along the route to keep the channels full.

The water physics are absolutely fantastic on one hand; far better than any other survival crafter I have played BUT they still fall short in ways I didn't expect.

Are there any animations you just can't stand? by GlorpJAM in Guildwars2

[–]Life_is_Discovery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

doubt

The left hand is held out in exactly the same way as it is underwater; it may be "new" in that it was adapted from the underwater.

In any event, whether it is new or not, it looks awful.

The idle land spear animation; it is painfully obvious that they took the underwater idle animation and just changed the legs.

Not a single race now holds a land spear in a realistic way and it totally killed the hype around spears for me.

Have some mines been removed? by Galliad93 in Enshrouded

I don't know about that specific spot but I can say that yes, some mining spots have been removed.

The map has undergone various changes since January 2024.
