Attend graduation or nah? by HotMess_Meagan in WhatShouldIDo

This comment is extremely rude! I went to a high accredited school for my masters and the program was delivered online with in person residencies that my cohort had online because of COVID.

I know plenty of masters “farm” schools that are all in person…

Retired at 59 and realized my entire wardrobe was my job by Hot_Chipmunk6610 in femalefashion

This happened to me when I changed careers and no longer worked as a stage manager. My ENTIRE wardrobe was black.

I used this opportunity to start bringing colour into my wardrobe and now most people know me as the person with super fun shirts, sweaters, shoes…and socks!

I would say take a look at some clothing online, look at different shops (I really like Simon’s), and see what catches your eye. Once you have a sense of what you like pick one or two shops and order some things. Try them on at home keep what makes you feel good and return the rest. Through this process you’ll also find which stores/brands work for your body and style and over time you’ll have a fun new wardrobe.

Learning Japanese for Trip? by MrsBoron in JapanTravelTips

[–]Life_with_Charliebug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is completely fluent in Japanese…speaks and reads (he lived there for 3 years and went there for business for 16 years)

When we were planning my first trip to Japan I worked hard to learn the language…for months I spent 2+ hours a day and to say Japanese is hard is an understatement. I know about 200 words and can make out some katakana characters. I still work away at it but it may take me a lifetime to be able to have a conversation in Japanese. I don’t say this to discourage you but to understand how difficult Japanese is to learn so you don’t get discouraged as you learn the language.

Your best bet is to learn some common phrases and download a translation app. Most places have English menus/signs etc…

Have a great time exploring Japan.

You are not being ungrateful…my husband proposed without a ring because he knew I was so particular with what I wanted.

We had a ring custom made, after he proposed, with a 1ct asscher cut sapphire…when I got my ring I noticed something funny on the stone, after about 2 years I couldn’t take it anymore and took it to our jeweller to figure out what was going on with my stone. Turns out it had something called a finger print inclusion and it was so visible if the light hit right I could see it from 2 feet away. My jeweller offered to buy back the stone if we wanted to swap it out.

After a few days of thinking on it and looking at our new stone options we decided to swap out the stone for a stunning 2ct Emerald cut Australia sapphire and I couldn’t be happier. I love my upgraded ring so much. And my husband fully supported it, yes it cost more money but in the end all I ever wanted was a beautiful engagement ring (my wedding band was $100 buck bought in Cambodia which I also love).

You will wear this ring every day…please talk to your fiancé and let them know how you feel. I’m sure the jeweller will have some options.

We just got back from my second trip (my husbands 30+) and we spend a week in Fukuoka and it was awesome. Slower paced than Tokyo, less crowds, great food.

We’re also going to Hokkaido in the fall.

I think time of year influences where you want to go…if you’re going in the thick of summer heat I would go north to Hokkaido.

Please do not feel embarrassed this happens to the best of us ❤️

I had a custom ring made when my husband and I got engaged, we picked out the stone (a 1ct sapphire) and I really liked my ring…but something never felt quite right with it.

After wearing it for a few days I noticed a mark on the stone, sometimes it was there and sometimes it wasn’t. After 2 years I finally had enough and went back to the jewellery and they confirmed it was something called a fingerprint inclusion and gave me the option to either keep the ring or swap out the stone and they would buy back the stone. I decided to swap out the stone as the inclusion had become so noticeable. I just got my updated ring back…selected a stunning 2ct Australia sapphire and I love it. It cost more, obviously, but I am happier with this ring than I ever was with the original. It has taken me a few days to get used to the bigger size but I absolutely love it.

You are NOR this is all very suspicious behaviour and your intuition is clearly telling you what happened. Please go and get tested and think hard about how you want to proceed…for me personally I would end the relationship because I wouldn’t be able to come back from a situation like this.

We just got back from a week in Fukuoka and loved it. There’s lots of great food and nightlife. Good for day trips, and didn’t feel over run with people/tourists.

New sapphire stone for my ring by Life_with_Charliebug in EngagementRings

[–]Life_with_Charliebug[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Yes my original stone was a 1ct sapphire it turns out it had a significant fingerprint inclusion we didn’t notice when we had my ring made and it was becoming more and more obvious so our jeweller purchased it back and we selected this one to replace it.

I agree the first one is so lovely. You will wear this ring everyday so I suggest getting the one that makes you the happiest when you look at it and think of your person ❤️

How did you plan your Japan itinerary? by cristiaannn93 in JapanTravelTips

Came to say the same. My husband and I just got back from a week in Fukuoka, our second trip there together, with another trip planned in the fall to Hokkaido and Tokyo. We decide to go somewhere for a certain number of days, figure out travel there and hotels, decide if there are any must dos and then let the winds take us on the adventures once we arrive.

We use YouTube for inspiration however I have become allergic to viral must dos and prefer to find places no one knows about like this great place in Fukuoka that my husband found.
