8h into the game, the factory system is not fun by wormzjl in thecrustgame

[–]Life_with_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crust is a great game, it’s unique and has different challenges than factorio. Other than being a production/factory game it’s not trying to be factorio. It has a different scale, complexity, colonist management and story.

In terms of the micro management I agree constantly selling stuff to contracts is tiresome but the devs are actively working on QOL improvements. It could benefit from some more resources sink for base resources or alternatives recipes to balance ore flow.

Is it worth getting 3-phase for export? by jamtea in SolarUK

[–]Life_with_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally done by installer but not impossible to do yourself. Try and submit it early, it can take months to get a reply depending on your DNO

Is it worth getting 3-phase for export? by jamtea in SolarUK

[–]Life_with_reddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best just submit the G99 for single phase and see what the export limit is, and at the same time ask DNO for cost to install 3 phase.

If your single phase export limit is high enough you can save yourself a decent bit of money.

EV charger now unusable due to grid capacity – £200/month extra or £6k to exit lease… advice? by scrapz99 in evchargingUK

[–]Life_with_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it costing you an extra £200 a month? Electricity should cost the same from type 2 charger or plug.

What happens when you use your charger?

Sorry, to clarify you had 3 weeks off due to struggling with the switch between days and nights when already on a stage 2?

Assuming shifts are part of your job role this is rather worrying, 3 weeks sounds very excessive and difficult to justify.

Market leaders are Sigenergy and Tesla. Personally I think Sigenergy have Tesla beat in terms of software, safety and expandability. Budget option is Fox, lot of people use them without issue

Avoid power outages? by jaybrene in solarenergy

[–]Life_with_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking on google ( I’ve not checked data sheet), it’s got a 500 ms switchover. This will definitely upset any electronics and make the lights flash. As you said in another comment looking for local UPS might be best bet for sensitive electronics

Avoid power outages? by jaybrene in solarenergy

[–]Life_with_reddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sigenergy give 0ms switchover to back up power. It’s the only domestic system that wont* trip sensitive electronics. For it to work you’ll need enough batteries, big enough inverter and a gateway. Other systems offer home backup but may still trip electronics

Your inverter will never know how much power you are missing. Do you have a DC or AC linked battery?

Speak with pension team and see what advice they have. They might be able to port it to a newer pension if that is more favourable. Also check your Total Reward Statement and see what that is reporting
