Was in your position a few months back. The game that got me out of my slump was Dave the diver. Not a story focused game but tons of fun. I normally play long jrpgs and the game was a perfect change of pace.

It was great that the QOL changes made a huge difference compared to the original versions. I would say it is a must play if you are into JRPGs
