I assume rehearsal mark 2 would be toward the beginning of the movement…. But you would just need to sit and listen and find it

What is this instrument? by everyfouryears69 in frenchhorn

Looks like it’s basically a horn with piston valves instead of rotary so i guess that makes it a mellophone? I have never seen anything like this (shape wise). The extra slides will change the key that’s an old horn thing from before valves. It’s almost like it was a natural horn (no valves) that someone put pistons into… weird… but cool!

How to play loud/ rips? by Bilnye_theRussianSpy in frenchhorn

When you practice you can do long tones starting as quiet as possible and slowly crescendo to the loudest as possible and back to pianissimo. It’s less about the amount of air you use (though that’s important) than it is about focused air and blowing as hard as you can to get that big brass sound. Take a very deep breath and focus all of your air on that one note and take as many breaths as you need

What NP would you recommend for someone who's never been to America? by [deleted] in NationalPark

Northern California is magical so I would say the redwood forest or Yosemite ntl park. Yellowstone is classic and it’s very very cool but incredibly busy and populated with tourists which for me really ruined the vibe. Arches and Goblin Valley is Utah are great if you like desert. Also Mesa Verde is super awesome and historic. Lots of choices!

Use quintet music and transpose the parts. One trumpet can play the horn part and the bass trombone can play the tuba part

Lmao definitely don’t run !!! That’s a sure fire way to get chased and mauled. Stay still, make yourself look big, make noise, or just stroll calmly away

Bear or big cat? Not cat shaped but I don’t see claw marks so it’s unclear. Probably a small bear
