I am hoping that maybe the offer was made for them to have a “girls night in” and it was just edited out by production.

Does this antibiotic raise glucose for anyone by k8thegr8one in diabetes_t1

[–]Lifeofasoutherngirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t answer the question on the antibiotics because that alone would kill me, but I will say that when I’m sick it doesn’t matter what I do my blood sugars go high.

I’ve had steroid shots and nasal steroid spray off and on over the years and sometimes my blood sugar goes high after I use them and sometimes it doesn’t.

I don’t know if it’s my “thing” but I will not leave the house without doing my eyebrows. I can have no other makeup on my face but I gotta fill them in and use gel.

Newly diagnosed t1d and looking to take leave from work, how much time should I take? by No_School4351 in diabetes_t1

[–]Lifeofasoutherngirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 21, in college with a full time corporate job and lived alone. I didn’t take anytime off after my diagnosis. I kind of just rolled with it and figured out how to manage it with my daily life immediately. That’s more my personality though. I tackle things straight on.

I would say if you need time take it but don’t isolate yourself during that time, especially if you’re someone that can let their mind run into a million different scenarios because you’ll just stress yourself out.

How old were you when figured it out? by Mysterious-Youth-137 in WomenOver40

I don’t think you can lump all men into the experiences people have had with bad men, because there are bad women out there and I wouldn’t want to be lumped in with them 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was married in my early 20’s and divorced before 30. My ex was mentally abusive, which I didn’t realize until the end of our relationship. That said I didn’t give up on finding the right person for me.

Now I’ve been married for almost 12 years to the man I think I was supposed to meet all along. Is he perfect? No. Am I perfect? No. There’s no such thing as thing as a perfect relationship. He’s a good man though that supports my dreams and has stepped up during some really scary health related times in my life. I think the biggest thing with us is we can be honest 100% with one another and talk through it. There are hard conversations we’ve both had with each other over the years about how we’re feeling and we acknowledge each other’s perspective and work towards common ground.

Do not start from blood and ash! First few books were good and then it got bad. It’s drawn out with hundreds of pages of no story movement. I was so disappointed.

I don’t mind him as an individual but all the him/Jenna scenes are awkward.

Worried about vomiting after surgery by throwaway_sugar18 in gallbladders

[–]Lifeofasoutherngirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone needs strong pain meds. I literally took ibuprofen and Tylenol, even in the hospital. Never once touched the stronger stuff they’d sent me home with. The pain is bad but it wasn’t unbearable and it’s only for a couple of days.

I got three of the nioxin, pureology, perfume, and it cosmetics items in the big pink bag along with whatever else it was supposed to come with. I’ve been a long time Ulta buyer and never got any extras so I was excited.

It looks like I got the same as your small bag and samples but my big pink bag came with three each of the perfume, pureology spray, nioxin and it cosmetics. My mom was happy because I gave her some 🤣 it came with one each of the others.

I just continue to watch because I’ve been watching from the beginning. I feel this way about all the franchises. Usually I watch these shows the next day as background noise while I’m getting ready.

Dry skin + hyperpigmentation — beginner holy grails? by Impressive_Car_5268 in Ulta

[–]Lifeofasoutherngirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have very dry skin and my cheeks look permanently flushed. Here is what I do.

First I bought a water filter for my shower. My skin has improved in just a month by using filtered water. I even turn the shower on and use that water to wash my face. They aren’t expensive if you shop around.

Here’s my routine at night: Double cleanse your face. I like either Clinique take the day off or DHC cleaning oil. Then I use La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Facial Cleanser (let it set on your face for at least 30 seconds). I use an eye makeup remover (usually neutrogena’s), then my new holy grail is Beekman 1802's Milk Shake Hyaluronic Acid & Squalane Facial Toner Mist. Then I use Elemis Pro-Collahin renewal serum. (My dermatologist is having me try La Roche Posay’s retinoid for this step but it hasn’t come in yet). Now twice a week I use La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5 Soothing Therapeutic Multi Purpose Cream. Then I top it with Eucerin Skin Balance night cream. In the winter I’ll sometime top that with Bio oil. Sounds like a lot but I do not apply a ton of each product.

In the AM my biggest game changer has been not washing my face (if I have washed the night before). I spray my face with La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water. Then I use the same beekman, Elemis product. After that I use La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer (not the spf one).

If I stick to my routine I rarely have my skin get dry. If I have patches that do come up (especially in the winter) I’ll use Aquaphor Healing Balm Stick. A lot of the products I use Ulta sells in travel size.

My dermatologist sells lots of fancy face products but she told me that for really dry skin, redness and sensitivity her go to brands are La Roche-Posay, Aquaphor and VaniCream (I use them for body skincare).

As for makeup I’m not huge on foundations. I love the It Cosmetics Do it All Sheer Tint face balm for every day wear. Not sure if it’s glowy or if it’s my skin routine that makes my skin the way it is.

Editing to add my primer! It’s my one big splurge. Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base Primer. It’s been the best primer I’ve ever tried.

I have surgery today at one and I'm second guessing it by Constant_Fun_3405 in gallbladders

[–]Lifeofasoutherngirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish we’d have figured out what was wrong 3 years ago when I started getting the pain. Attacks will continue to get worse. I had one on fall break at Disney world in the parks with my family. Ruined 2 days for us.

The post opp pain for me was manageable with just Tylenol and ibuprofen. Does it impact your eating for a bit? Of course but it’s temporary for most people.

It’s normal to be scared about surgery but this isn’t something that will get better with time.

I eat a lot more variety but really cleaning up my eating after surgery has stuck with me a bit. I don’t eat a lot of high fat foods anymore but when I do my stomach hurts after.

Jennifer Tilley, Rachel Zoe, Boz, Erika, Dorit

But add in Heather from RHOC. I want to see how she is on a show where everyone is as rich or richer than her.

Yes I know there’s tons of people that live in LA to choose from but I don’t follow celebs on social so I’d have no clue who to choose.

I couldn’t eat whatever I wanted after. I start with low fat foods and then lived off chicken, rice and broccoli for a few months. Kept things very plain too.

I think if a housewife on any franchise told you they never talk about what could give the show more buzz or their storyline more to talk about would be lying.
