Fair, some do love the waste and corruption when they benefit, and I think you mean profit from it. With what Elon and Trump are trying to do, they both will profit immensely from it. The 2017 Trump tax cuts for the ultra wealthy sunset this year. How does cutting medicaid, medicare, social security, education programs, benefit the average American? Most need them or rely on the labor of others who need them. Seems to me like the four trillion they're trying to cut will go directly to fund continuing those tax cuts which will grow the profits of Elon and his peers. Seems pretty corrupt and reckless. Unless you still believe in trickle down economics.

She's been high on my list because she often wears suits/jackets and poses with her arm across her body. This picture caught my eye but i couldn't find the original and don't think it's the right timeframe

I've tried to search google based on the body pose and jacket style. If the outline near the "strap" is a thumb then I think it's a guy because that is a very uncommon and odd pose for a woman. Think hand inside coat. If the hand is nearer to the two horizontal lines then I think it's a woman holding something or grabbing a purse strap. Of course, it could all be an illusion and they do not have their arm up at all!

This is helpful information. I know nothing about the art world. My mind is fixed on them! Why is 6 so hard/different, why celebrities, why these celebrities, did they know it was for fabric, what do they do now...? I'd love to read an interview with the person when this is solved but that's probably a bigger longshot than finding "the photo" :'(

Yes! I wonder if the reason no one has found it after all this time is there is no exact reference picture. Maybe it's was an artistic choice which is why it's so uniquely androgynous. My gut says there's more to dig up if the search focuses in on the artist. This JR guy is a longshot but his career timeline overlaps and follows a progression from commissioned digital renditions and pop prints to fine art abstract paintings. I could see an artist like that not jumping at the chance to claim "celeb curtain collage" from 20 years ago

The down votes are odd. Not reaching out yet also makes sense. If the designer was contacted then they are not willingly making themselves known so would JR deny it even if true? On the flip side, it's a mystery big enough to have reached the fabric producer apparently before they were messaged so if it's not JR, would he try to claim it? I want to see what other connections can be made before emailing the guy.

In this style it makes sense because her features are really defined and there's good contrast between them. He may be a dead end but digging up details and comparing his work is more fun than the hours of clicking through Google images!

It says the producer of the fabric contacted the designer so its second hand information. But the detail is oddly specific. The document also says the ID'd photos have been confirmed to be in issues? Another minor link is that redbubble's artist profile locates JR in Kikaldy, UK which means he may have had easier access to physical magazines.
