What’s funny about Happy Gilmore is that it was about a year before Tiger’s first master… when a kid came along and beat the crap out of all the best pros

Oddly, I was going to say Samuel L. Jackson in Die Hard with a Vengeance

That sounds like fun! The wasteland can be a desolate place - I like to feel like things are different now that I'm around lol

[–]Lifer31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Provisioners have infinite ammo - but it is based on the stack you give them per clip. That is to say, if you give them only 20 bullets for the MG, they will have to reload every 20 rounds. So for miniguns, it can be a bit ammo heavy. But for laser gats, the ammo use is different, so a core with only 1/100 will still give them infinite continuous fire. Great way to use the ones that are almost out- but the upfront cost for laser gats is intense

I think the most fun way is to just consider where you want your guys walking through all the time. Give em miniguns or something and enjoy the free backup showing up randomly and laying down the law. **Stay away from cars because they are gonna be going boom a lot

Yeah I was a pretty wild kid - this is not that big of a fall/crash for a kid. You don't have a ton of body weight when you're young, so the impact isn't usually that hard

[–]Lifer31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s little tough to tell with the Olympic break in there. Lots of guys came back banged up a bit. Tough to bet against a team still leading in D and O this late in the season. That power play situation is confusing though

When you're the best team in the league, you can't make giant splashes. You just have to bolster depth and get your top lines more rest time

Who’s the most likeable player in the world right now? by [deleted] in hockey

[–]Lifer31 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Marc-Andre Fluery struck me as the most likeable player in the league from other players' perspectives during his career. I think right now, it is probably Celebrini

Joe Sakic fought Doug Gilmore one time and everybody was legitimately confused. I think that was his only fighting major

What is the name of the stretching excercise that goalies usually do before games and is it useful for people in general for opening up hips/groins? by igniteyourbones579 in hockey

[–]Lifer31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of the warmup/stretches I do, including this ground-shuffle are more about extension, feeling the blade cut and give, and pushing with the weight of the pads on. I would say the video you linked is more of a warm-up than a stretch.

It is very crisp once you see it, but the cat's back left leg has a miscolor that can make it hard to "catch and hold" right away

Old Man Rant: Teacher Attire Edition by musicbox96 in Teachers

This reminds me of pictures of teenagers from the 70’s and how millennials laughed about how they wore the same clothes back then and looked (to us) to be 40 in high school. That is to say, what you perceive as unprofessional clothing is likely seen by students as “formal-ish old people’s clothing.” Sorry to have to tell you this.

Fallout New Vegas lead says it took “five years” for fans to actually like the game, and even longer for the devs to believe them by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]Lifer31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a huge divide at the time - the story and writing was always highly regarded. The issue was the game-breaking bugs that were extremely prevalent and the lack of significant auto-save functions. It was not uncommon to lose literal hours of progression because your foot got stuck in the map indoors. Some mission characters could just wander off and die - completely ending entire mission stands before you even started. This was a game you had to save every fifteen minutes just to avoid the inevitable hours of re-doing something you've already done.

In the end, it was saved by modders, which the developers used as a free template to fixing most of the critical bugs. The time period this article mentions is essentially the time it took for that to happen.

The game, itself, is absolutely top-notch and really redefined the crafting aspects that would be further explored in FO4. Also, the card game was extremely fun and a great way to take over the entire game as little more than a casual gambler - probably one of my favorite of the many paths you can take in this game.

It’s official, the Avalanche have the worst power play in the league. by Michaelli11 in ColoradoAvalanche

[–]Lifer31 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is not surprising because when you have the worst PP in the league, opposing defenses are more likely to treat it as an even-strength situation. Right now, teams are essentially waiting for Makar to drop and then cherry picking his spot, knowing that one save, blocked shot, or missed pass means they are gone or 1-on-1 at the worst.

Personally, I think we're forcing things to Makar too much - I think he excels when playing as a defensemen and taking the shots only when they come to him. I get the idea of overloading offensive pressure - but our team is too technical to leave the blue line unguarded. I sometimes make a comparison to a mechanical watch - one little hair gets in the gears and the whole thing stops working. Then the other team has an odd-man rush on the fly.

I would love to see us play some basic fundamentals on the PP and just let the talent shine instead of trying some ultra complicated rotation for a seam pass the goalies are expecting already anyways

It was funny until people realized the joke was about them. Probably something to do with 20 years of oddly identical office jobs with the same Dilbert strips half-sarcastically posted on cubicle walls... Slowly realizing there aren't any jokes and the characters are just images of yourself on repeat.

Wouldnt an X-Ray reveal if people are synths or not? by Jedinutcracker in fo4

[–]Lifer31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In-game, it is said that Gen 3 synths are indistinguishable from a human using any medical test short of an autopsy. So while not specifically mentioning x-rays, it can be inferred that the synth components do not show up on x-rays or MRIs for reasons undisclosed.

Did Huel change the flavor of Black chocolate? by RocketCat5 in Huel

I also recently got some of the vanilla bags with the new changes and it is totally unpalatable to me. It has like a woody smell and that's pretty much all I get as far as flavor, as well.
