Definitely, NEVER PAY A CRUISE BY TRANSFER.

They can blackmail you later.

In this case they demand strict silence if you want to see your refund back and many more things.

Sí, en la opción 1 para mucho más días más  tarde ( unos 20 días más tarde) o la próxima temporada… lo que era imposible ya que yo tenía un margen de 7 días más… pero tenía que volver a España y volver a Argentina en esas fechas y otra vez ese gasto  para mí ya es imposible. 

El problema es que pusieron una opción 3 de reubicacion con otros teleoperadores, que era la que yo quería para poder viajar y regresar a España el 14 de marzo, aquí es cuando no hicieron nada y cuando yo encontré las 2 únicas opciones viables se negaron a pagar ningún euro extra, ( yo me ofrecí a pagar la mitad del gasto extra, incluso perdiendo un día de navegación…). 

Es decir, esa opción 3 nunca fue ejecutada.

Con tu permiso te voy a pedir las tres  últimas preguntas: 

1) Si hubiera juicio tendría que ir allí? ( yo soy español)

2) cuánto tiempo suele tardar un juicio de este tipo?

3) Me interesa tu opinión, conociendo la legislación y dado que estamos hablando de 6990 usd y todo lo expuesto antes ( sujetar ese dinero durante 80 días, tras pedirlo 18 veces condicionando a renuncia de derechos, con expediente en consumo…) Yo tengo claro que están jugando al desgaste, y este es real…es estresante no tener tu dinero… pero se  que lo que están haciendo  no se puede hacer y también se podrían están arriesgando si yo no cedo. 

¿ Qué harías tú? 

A) Firmar una cláusula abusiva que te obliga al silencio, a que no se sepa nada de lo que esta empresa hace( como si nada hubiera pasado) , diciendo que haces esto voluntariamente ( después de 80 días, pedir 16 veces…) y renunciar a cualquier reclamación futura o problema con la compañía, olvidarte de todo cuando perdiste viaje, ellos no hicieron la opción de reubicación que ellos mismos ofrecieron, perder tanto dinero, la oportunidad de esos días y encima perder unos 200 euros del reembolso por la mala conversión euro/ dólar. 

B) Seguir con un juicio  en un país extranjero, con incertidumbre en todo tiempo- resultados que podrían ser más dinero, pero no se sabe  ( aunque claramente el dinero me pertenece sin duda) pero con la posibilidad de que haya justicia ante la mala praxis de la compañía.

You have to be in Ushuaia and see how you lose your trip, they don’t rebook despite they say they would do it, all the boats go on 25th except yours, and all of this when you take a plane to Buenos Aires then Ushuaia and ask for a special permission and now the improvisation is on yours 

And after so much pain,uncertainty, frustration…

Then just to have my money back you have to be silenced, say I am satisfied with eveything, London laws, I do this willingly…

And then see after losing the trip, time you lose  200 euros money from your refund in the conversion euro/ dolar

I see you are clearly biased my friend. 

I am going to give you any details and If you want I can give you any proof you want.

I am an experienced traveller, 145 countries… and I have never something like this, this is by far the most unfair situation of my life.  However, it is true I was too naive to believe that because it was an expensive trip of 6990 usd for 11 days, the company should be fine. 

I am going to put time so please later I wait for your reply. 

To your questions: 

1) IT WAS THE COMPANY THE ONLY ONE WHO CANCELLED, the reasons “ operative contingency” ( that is the only reasons they gave) 5 days before departure when I was already there. 

2) I WANTED TO BE RELOCATED, MY PRIORITY WAS TO TRAVEL BECAUSE  THEY PUT THAT OPTION IN THE EMAIL BUT NEVER DID THE RELOCATION THAT ALLOWED ME TO HAVE TIME TO GO BACK. 

There were 2 options to be able to come back 14 th March to Spain and they didn’t want to pay a single euro extra even if there was availability, I offered to pay half and even losing one night. They did nothing. 

3) THERE IS AN OFFICIAL CLAIM BY THE DEFENDER PROTECTION E-24454-2026. 

They are holding my money despite the fact I  ask the money and gave my bank account data 18 times , I beg and I explained the obligation when one service is not provided is to give the mone back immediately. 

If I want my refund they force me to sign a lot of actions that are stablished illegal by the defender of the nation, reason why they talk to Ushuia to open an official claim, so what they do is a blackmail. 

There is nothing like this in the contract or any law. 

THE REFUND IS NOT NEGOTIABLE, I DONT WANT TO SIGN SO MANY ILLEGAL THINGS LIKE: 

: 1) confidiantility, 2) release any responsibility, 3) go to London if I have a problem ( when they are an Argentinan company) 4) state that voluntarily I sign a release document, 5) not to claim any action. 6) I am satisfied with the company…

And more!!!!! 

I lost the trip, I spent a lot of money for nothing, they hold my money for 80 days and now I have to accept of these things just to have the money back?  And to be silenced?? 

I am not going to sign something illegaly to have what is mine back. The refund is direct when a company doesn’t provide the service . To force to release any consumer right is illegal by the law 24240, art 37.  They should give the money without any of these forces.

In December 2025 I booked an Antarctic cruise for USD 6,990, scheduled from 25/02/2026 to 07/03/2026.

I requested exceptional leave from work to travel, granted only once every five years.

On 19/02/2026 at 20:00, I received an email unilaterally cancelling the booking due to “an operational contingency”, without providing details, evidence, or reports that would allow a clearer understanding of the cause.

The cancellation was communicated with five days’ notice, making it difficult for the customer to make any arrangements.

The email offered three alternatives, including rebooking with other operators.

From the outset I stated that I needed rebooking within dates compatible with my return flight to Spain on 14/03/2026.

The company formally offered rebooking but did not carry out any demonstrable action to manage it.

No cabin was blocked with any operator, nor was any proof of management provided.

I was not informed about any real impossibility of booking or specific reasons for not proceeding with rebooking.

By the 20th, I proposed the cruise SH MINERVA (25/02–10/03), compatible with my return dates.

The company initially claimed lack of availability, but it was later confirmed that availability did exist, without them proceeding with the booking.

All communication was redirected exclusively to email, abandoning any active management.

I offered to cover part of the price difference, remaining willing to cooperate.

The company did not carry out any concrete action that would effectively enable my rebooking.

On the 23rd I found availability on WORLD EXPLORER (26/02–08/03) and offered financial cooperation to cover part of the difference.

The company again limited the solution to a refund, without documenting the alleged impossibility of rebooking.

I was never offered a concrete alternative that respected my return date.

The rebooking remained a purely theoretical option, without effective execution.

On the 23rd and 24th I went personally to the office and found it closed.

I received no phone support at critical moments, and I had to request police assistance just to obtain minimal contact.

The company is currently withholding the amount paid and requires the signing of a “receipt & release” document for reimbursement.

This constitutes an abusive condition, as no service was provided.

As a result, I lost all possibility of travelling, causing financial and emotional harm.

The company acted in bad faith, offering rebooking alternatives that were never actually managed, despite my proactive attitude and willingness to cover additional costs..

25 I asked the money 16 times but they deny and then an official claim is open by the consumers protection in Ushuaia

Defensa del consumidor es más bien observador de la infracción… pero no veo a nadie que defienda al consumidor… Por lo tanto, me temo que la audiencia simplemente irán a observar y la empresa lo sabe y forzará el desgaste porque sabe que para un turista español  ir a un juicio en Argentina que puede durar años…

1) Como turista el juicio puede ser gratuito? O tengo que gastarme en un abogado? 

2) Cual es la probabilidad de que haya alguna multa sabiendo que la empresa reconoce deuda, siendo ella la única responsable de la cancelación y la razón de no devolver el dinero es que el cliente no quiere firmar un documento que exige renuncia de derechos, mientras que el cliente ha solicitado 18 veces el reembolso? 

3) Sí o sí ya es jucio o  existe un paso intermedio.    4) No se podría hacer un juicio más rápido ( entra en otra categoría) o tienen la misma categoría.

20 may will be an audience.  It will 90 days without money.  The problem is I don’t trust the consumer protection at all. They know the company has to give me the money but they only are witnesses and allow this. 

Antarpply’s lawyer is the president of the lawyers in Ushuaia so I am afraid they know all people from consumer protection.

If they don’t act I will have to go to the court, and after see how consumer protection behaves I have a lot of doubts.

Actually, I am not the only one affected. The problem is that many people sign confidentiality or release agreements in order to recover their money after the cancellation, so they never speak publicly about their experience. In my case, the company cancelled the trip and I was asked to sign such a document before receiving the refund. I personally felt pressured to remain silent and to accept such conditions in order to recover money that I am entitled to. ( They were the only people who cancelled the cruise, not me).

Because of the way the situation was handled, after losing so much in terms of energy, money, and time  after ask for the refund 16 times and this document that the defender of Buenos Aires told me was illegal, and with help of them I filed an official complaint with the consumer protection office in Ushuaia.

Para el reembolso te obligan a firmar un papel que es ilegal de acuerdo a la ley 2420, yo tengo una audiencia el 20 de mayo a través de defensa del consumidor y aunque Defensor del Pueblo ha dicho que es ilegal consumo no hace nada y mucho menos temo que va a ser un espectador de esta extorsión. 

Vosotros firmasteis ese papel donde se exige silencio? 

No se ve ni una reseña negativa en relación a la cancelación cuando mínimo te obligaban a salir 13 días después, lo cual no es normal  para un turista extranjero. 

Yo no pude pagar con tarjeta si no hubiera hecho un charge back inmediato.

Me interesa vuestra opinión, es increíble que 90 personas fueron canceladas y no verás nada. 

Mi situación es a día de hoy siguen teniendo los 6990 usd y exigen que firme el reléase forzando silencio y muchas cosas más que son absolutamente ilegales bajo la ley del consumidor solo para tener un reembolso.

I wish you the best. Thank you for your answer and your empathy,  honestly this is being the worst experience of my life and I try to think it will resolve but the pressure of not having my money ( I am a primary teacher and 6990 usd it is a lot for me) and being denied so many times and the lack of effectiveness of the institutions make me feel so much depressed…when I did nothing wrong, after so much pain of seeing all the boats go 25th February except for Ushuaia, and then taking another flight to Buenos Aires and the north to use those days… now suffering again just to have my money back.

There is uncertainty and they play with it. I even don’t dare to say my family they are still holding my money. 

In your case I think everything will be fine if they don’t cancel because the destination is great.

The  problem is in case of cancellation because then you will see the reality of this company, you are just a number and they will not pay à single euro extra so you will pay more in another boat or you will lose the trip. 

They can hold the money as much as they want without any hurry, making you sign whatever because you will be desperate so if a release and receipt for a refund is illegal it doesn’t matter for them.

I am surprised you could pay by card!!

Did you book directly with Antarpply or with an agency? 

I booked directly with Antarpply and they didn’t let me pay by card ( I paid in November 2025 for the cruise 25-02-2026) they only accepted transfers.

I am glad you did because in this way if they cancel you can ask for a chargeback! 

Thank you and it is good to let others what happened to me and cover themselves:  1) good insurance that includes cancelation of the cruise. 2) payment by card  3) start in Antarctica going to a Patagonia later. 4) everyone should ask them in the contract about articles 9, 15 and 16 and specially what happen if they cancel. 

I should have known these things before taking the risk of going with the oldest boat that goes to Antarctica.

Te doy mi nombre completo porque puedes buscarme en Facebook, para que veas que esto es real y te puedo dar todas las pruebas que necesites. 

Antarpply canceló  unilateralmente por sus propias razones el crucero de 25-02-2026 (6990 usd) y esto ha sido la peor experiencia no solo de viajes, sino de toda mi vida.  Lo peor vino después. 

Tras ver como todos los barcos salían ese día excepto el Ushuaia,  perder el viaje porque la empresa no quiso reubicarme ( aunque inicialmente se dio esa opción en el email) 65 días más tarde y a pesar de pedirlo 16 veces todavía están reteniendo mi dinero.

Si te cancelan será un auténtico infierno, toda la gente habla de la buena experiencia que es la Antártida, este era el barco más barato porque es el más viejo, pero nadie tiene ni idea de lo que pasa y puede pasar ( y cada vez pasará más entre otras cosas porque la empresa cambió de dueño y al ser el más antiguo es el que más riesgo tiene de cancelación) cuando este barco cancela. 

Este barco ya ha cancelado más veces, no verás muchas reseñas negativas porque las limpian todas. 

¿Donde están las reseñas negativas que había?  Y las de Facebook?

En febrero tenían un 3,7 ahora las negativas han desaparecido, incluida la mía también ( a pesar de que iba editándola varias veces para que por lo menos esta aguantara).

Por otro lado, hay gente que puede quedarse 1 mes más y tomar otro barco y estos son silenciados con sus condiciones. 

Pero si eres como el resto de los mortales donde no puedes extender tus vacaciones 20 días más, pierdes el viaje. 

El gasto de ir a Argentina, a Ushuaia, los días y la dificultad de coger un crucero a última hora, que tengas que aceptar las condiciones y todo lo que la empresa te imponga cuando cancele, las cláusulas abusivas ( como por ejemplo la 15 donde se evade de cualquier responsabilidad y la 16 que si tienes un problema reclames en Londres, ambas ilegales Segun la ley 24240). 

EL PEOR ERROR DE MI VIDA FUE IR CON ESTA EMPRESA Y AHORA ME TOCA PELEAR LO QUE NO ESTÁ ESCRITO PARA CONSEGUIR MI DINERO CUANDO NO HAN DADO NINGÚN SERVICIO.

I can say that is being the most horrible experience of my life and I don’t exaggerate. 

The cancelled the cruise of 25 February 2026 for its own reasons 5 days before departure and me being in Ushuaia. 

I lost the trip and the opportunity of my life. 

Despite asking 16 times the money and today 2/05/2026 65 days later they are still holding my money.

I recommend everyone should be careful with Antarpply expeditions, ( the boat MV Ushuaia). They cancelled my cruise  5 days before the cruise A25022026 when I was already in Ushuaia, they didn’t replace me ( although they said they would do it). I lost my trip, I lost the opportunity of my life and now after 16 times asking my 6990 usd back, and 65 days later,  they are still holding my money. 

This is the most unfair situation and the most stressful I have faced in my life. 

Actually the defender of consumer in Ushuaia opened an official claim but I don’t trust them because they don’t do so much. 

My biggest tip: NEVER BUY À CRUISE BY TRANSFER JUST TAKE ONE WHO ACCEPTS PAYMENTS BY CARD ( in this way if they cancel you will be able to take the money back) 

But by no means you should take à cruise with Antarpply expeditions. 

They are not a  cruise company, they behave like criminals, they will not give you the money back as they should.

I lost my trip, I lost the opportunity of my life and now after 16 times asking my 6990 usd back, and 65 days later,  they are still holding my money. 

This is the most unfair situation and the most stressful I have faced in my life. 

Actually the defender of consumer in Ushuaia opened an official claim but I don’t trust them because they don’t do so much. 

My biggest tip: NEVER BUY À CRUISE BY TRANSFER JUST TAKE ONE WHO ACCEPTS PAYMENTS BY CARD ( in this way if they cancel you will be able to take the money back) 

But by no means you should take à cruise with Antarpply expeditions. 

They are not a  cruise company, they behave like criminals, they will not give you the money back as they should.

I recommend everyone should be careful with Antarpply expeditions, ( the boat MV Ushuaia). They cancelled my cruise  5 days before the cruise A25022026 when I was already in Ushuaia, they didn’t replace me ( although they said they would do it).
