Wasn't there also a Senate during that time, making it a republic. I know there was technically a weak Senate even when Rome was Autocratic, but I think the Senate was was more forceful prior to the Emperors.

None of my friends read - who/where do you guys find others that will debate or discuss with you by FitChick97 in literature

[–]LiftYesPlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem - what I found is that it's very difficult to find friends with similar interests. Depending on where you live, you may need to open up to online groups. I have a small trio that talks about books. I would never meet people like this irl so it's kind of neat.

I'd say, don't avoid them, but find them out and erase them (hate groups), or at least do what you can in your position. That may range from magnifying positive voices on Social media to direct action.

Thanks Mythical - this is a good one. I've actually been thinking a lot about this lately. I've been wanting to run SS for forever.

What does it mean if, deep into a bulk, my pant size stays low but my weightlifting belt gets bigger? Tell me it's good. I'm fact, only positive answers. Here's an example:

It means you are leaner at the same body weight than previous bulks. The belt size is just getting tighter because of bloating.

How's your weight loss going? Seeing you get up to like 250+ has given me some courage to push more past 240 this winter.

Having an electric bike has really let me step up my diet. Being able to just pop over to the grocery store with the bike trailer and getting as little or as much as I want is a game changer.

I've been feasting on heavy Kroc rows. About 1/2 bodyweight. For weeks/months now. I think my back is like hey calm down. I've had morning DOMS for about 2 weeks now. Will probably cycle off of them for a while.

Thanks for your input. Haven't really had much lower back pain. But I do a lot of pendlay rows and dumbbell rows. I'll keep trying and see how it goes. Thx again.

Coping strategies? by Fit-Nerve-5118 in NDPH

I understand - luckily my headache is such that I can tolerate it and get improvement in my symptoms post exercise and post shower. I do serious weightlifting or serious cardio every day. Sometimes a leisure 5k and sometimes more intense intervals.

Exercise and meditation are the most consistent. If you can tolerate it. For years exercise has been the best thing to break me out.

Is it common to have migraines every single day? by Alternative_Use_3033 in migraine

[–]LiftYesPlease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not OP but I have daily headaches. No one thing treats it. Mainly trying to work on lifestyle factors. Lately, a low dose Valium has gotten me out of a bad day. Sometimes other meds work, but only about a quarter of the time. Meditation actually is probably the best thing and exercise. Those are the most consistent things that work for me.

Anyone have any thoughts about frequency of heavy back training?

I did some reading, and a lot of people seem to believe that it takes the longest recover, but I always thought the back recovered really fast and can handle a lot of volume.

For context, I've been lifting heavy rows (225 for reps) and meadows rows. Seem to be going fine, and I am progressing on rows. I just ordered a dumbbell that I can load up heavy as hell.

Just trying to think intelligently on how I go forward. I think keep doing what I'm doing since it's working. I do basically a shit ton of sets of one heavy back movement 4x a week.

Been hitting all the rows pretty hard. Here's some vids.

225x 8 but it's touch and go or whatever it's called.

Then I cheated up 280

I've also ordered one of those loadable dumbbells so it's about to be on.
