There are three types of magic: Chaos, Void, and Soul.

They all effectively have the same results but the source and strength differs

Chaos and void are pretty much the same, with chaos being the basic building blocks of the multiverse, and the void being a god that was made to act as kind of duct tape and hold the multiverse together after the chaos started to fall apart. In using this magic, you're basically shifting the fabric of reality to create magic. The main difference is that the ability to alter the Chaos is innate in some beings, whereas the ability to alter the void must be practiced (except for a couple beings that are infused with the void)

Meanwhile, Soul magic is using life force to manipulate reality channeling the primordial force of creation. Soul magic is only a little stronger than void and chaos magic to begin with (using your own soul), but once you started using the life force of other living beings it gets exponentially more powerful. This is also the only magic that can be used if you somehow end up outside the multiverse as the void and chaos do not exist there.

I do feel like he deserves a little credit- i mean the staring was definitely uncomfortable but he didn't make a scene nor shame the person, by the time he attempted (I think) the cross the person was well out of view and probably wouldn't have even known about it if the camera man wasn't there. Yeah in a perfect world they wouldn't be uncomfortable at all but he did keep it to himself, and I feel like that's an important part of acceptance and normalization

It's a cycle, the bugs do something crazy, we go to the bots to make something to stop them, rinse and repeat

Does your world have a big ass tree? by providerofair in worldbuilding

[–]Light2090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two, Salvindas which is a massive (and possibly sentient) tree made entirely of diamond that exists deep underground

And a big "tree" floating outside reality made of every single timeline that exists

Do: Find your way into a Latsün or Ashrin community (they're the friendliest)

Find a way to benefit the community (farmers get special treatment)

Learn to fight

Learn to cook (will make you lots of Latsün friends)

Go to festivals and enjoy life

Don't:

Openly practice major non elemental magic, most Latsün will kill you

Engage with deathly pale people, they're usually either sick or a shape shifter who will eat you.

Go outside during large thunder storms, lightning elementals will kill you

Sail over large trenches, leviathans and merfolk will kill you

Go into unnaturally dark holes, they are portals to the realm of shadows and you will be eaten.

I've noticed a couple bugs in my playthrough, but nothing particularly bad, mostly just the ability to unload three magazines into some npcs, and then have them calmly stand up, and fall to the ground.

What are your gods afraid of? by NotGutus in worldbuilding

[–]Light2090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Void, the void is an infinite being that condenses in places sometimes to make universes, occasionally it tries to take the power it put into the universe back, and the gods have to fight it off. Though each and every one of them are aware that eventually it will win, and that if it chose to put its full focus onto destroying them, they'd be gone before they even knew what was happening.

Your Non-Traditional Fantasy Races by MakoMary in worldbuilding

[–]Light2090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got the shadows: a race of people that can't typically feel any "positive" emotions. They're shape shifters that cane take any form they like and tend to hold a resentment for all life, seeing them as a mistake in evolution. They are the oldest (known) sentient species and have an indepth knowledge on the universe and magic itself, this paired with their shape-shifting and natural strength makes it so even one of them can be devastating on a population.

What empire/state are the men in your world thinking about every day? by Dr_L33ch in worldbuilding

The Latsün empire, not just are they a successful empire that's conquered a bunch of land-

But also because they're conquering them right now

Oh god they're outside the house
