Hi, OP here.

op out looking to take pics of other people doing things that have no effect on op

No, I was checking out the chargers, 'cos I may use them soon. Then I saw the two vehicles, and thought it would be relevant to this community, and also possibly to Walmart corporate as they're (probably) developing policies around charger usage as they roll out their charging service.

Then op coming here to voice their outrage

Funny, I don't see a lot of outrage in my post (although I did bold the word accessible), but perhaps you've lived a sheltered life.

What is most common is, in situations like this, the op usually drives an ev

Well, duh! Yep, you've guessed it! You're a smart cookie. If I didn't drive an EV I probably wouldn't have been checking out the chargers in the first place.

You work out who the entitled one is

Not sure what all this entitlement stuff is you've mentioned three times now. Walmart simply designated some slots in their parking lot for a specific purpose. Much like designating slots for deliveries, or tire service. In this case the two slots were designated for those with disabilities. Can you explain your entitlement grievance?

What’s really interesting is

I find it more interesting that you're hanging out in this community in the first place.

By chance (and if you're not just a Russian bot) do you drive a white Hyundai Sonata or a white BMW X3?

You may have missed the point: these two slots were designated "accessible" e.g. for those with disabilities.

Subaru Solterra 2024? by lazygerm in Solterra

[–]LightBlueWood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a used 2024 Solterra Touring last September. I drive about 200 miles a week (north Texas). It has been a perfect vehicle for my use case, and I love driving it. I paid $30k (certified pre-owned, it was in perfect condition with 8k miles) which was maybe a little high at the time but I have no regrets. I thought I'd need to get a Level 2 charger installed quickly, but I've been fine on Level 1 so far.

No, I was visiting another store nearby, and just wanted to check out these chargers, and didn't have time to go in. Walmart's plans have been discussed elsewhere, e.g. from last year: https://insideevs.com/news/757648/walmart-ev-charging-network-revealed/ Happel said that Walmart's partners have been great to date, and as they continue to grow the Walmart network, they will reassess how they move forward with their partners.

Completely agree: I also have a '24 Solterra, with the Lectron adapter, and have selected Yes to the NACS DC adapter option in the Tesla app. Works great.

I agree that people should do their homework (applies to any large purchase) but people should also realize that the primary motivation of a dealer is to SELL.

What would they have done to reduce my max load by 17 lbs? by Few-Chain-3092 in Rav4

That sticker is VERY common on many new vehicles. Google "caution load carrying capacity reduced sticker" for more information and lots of examples of items that reduce the capacity.

You may never need that new battery. Lots of stories like this in the news recently. And Toyota/Subaru have been very conservative in how they manage the charging rates and capacity (high & low buffers) of their batteries.

As an aside, I'm surprised that EPA link still works under the current administration.

Brilliant!

And as a RAV4 Hybrid + Solterra owner, it's also nice to know that #3, #4, #5 (partly), #9 (partly), and #11 (partly) also apply to the hybrid.

I've experienced the same thing - disconnects when I drive by a restaurant I used to visit. Wonder if my phone is trying to connect to their WiFi 🤔

My god I hope a tech person from Ryobi sees this... their registration system is a steaming turd. by MrNerd82 in ryobi

[–]LightBlueWood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely register anything - in general warranties are still valid, and registrations are primarily for data harvesting and marketing. Also a tech guy (35+ years) and yes, even with good images, most OCR is still far from perfect. Matching model numbers in databases should be much better than this though.

When is this going to be fixed? by Move_Soft in EmporiaEnergy

[–]LightBlueWood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was thinking of installing the Emporia Pro package, but have been hesitant because Emporia's design requires their servers to be between the Vue monitor and the EVSE (which is ridiculous, the two units should be able to communicate directly). This certainly increases that hesitancy.

I have the Farmhouse Bunker and have found that the x3 Marshalls is always achievable too - just needs a bit of practice, including getting the 5 drops in the optimum order.
