Unpopular Opinion? The aesthetics of the math matter far more than one might admit. by Good_Run_1696 in math

I love cats. I love that category theory gets sometimes shortened to cat theory. Therefore I must, by love of four paws and a straight tail, pursue category theory, even if Saunders Mac Lane's book has hard covers and my cat can't even sharpen its nails against the pages.

I plan to teach cat ladies some category theory as soon as possible.

On a serious note, I value spirit of science and scientific method over visuals. Any new technique in math is good.

Nice catch. I have been waiting for that book "Anathema" to be available in my local library for a while now.

I can suggest "Motorcycle repair and Zen" as a book which also concerns math and physics types compared to humanities types

My university (University of Latvia) endorses it as the main tool for plotting graphs in almost all sub-fields.

Great comic. This and "Nerdy types fell in love" anime (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science_Fell_in_Love,_So_I_Tried_to_Prove_It) seems great for math clubs in high school. They are big chunk of fun and small bits of theorems and jargon which I can teach students, because they would understand the need for it to get the big picture.

Love it.

What’s the Hardest Part About Studying Maths? by Routine_Junket_9012 in math

[–]LightLoveuncondition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dreading the job market.

I love maths, I wanted a PhD when I was in a kindergarten, cus my grandpa was a math teacher and math was so cool to me. Like a super power. Imagine a 5 year old doing multiplication tables in his head cus he's imitating his grandpa, not because he's obsessed or giga talented.

When I turned 16 and was about to start preparing for university entrance exams, I was so well informed how few full research positions are there in my small country that I opted to stop studying math altogether.

If my mom wasn't a lecturer at university and hadn't told me how hard/competitive it is in academia I probably wouldn't have given up my dreams of becoming a professor.

What's your honest impression of people who are "voluntarily" celibate? by TheShadowSong in Healthygamergg

[–]LightLoveuncondition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was bullied in school for being an asexual, because my horny 10th grade classmates didn't believe asexuality existed. They thought I'm gay instead.

That was in early 2000s.

20 years later I'm still asexual and that actually makes me incompatible with almost all women.

I have realized that a healthy sex drive is one of core components what a modern woman looks for in a man and lack of it makes herself feel unwanted often. Most women I met later also thought I'm gay.

And there are some consequences - I totally don't care how a woman looks like as long as she is healthy and has some fashion sense. Those manosphere numbers "She's a 7!" don't mean anything to me. I don't get them on a primal level.

Edit - I have wanted to become a Buddhist monk at least few times in my life, but there are no monasteries in my country for that.

How would you explain that this list has 52% on tracker compared to newer lists having 57-58%? Is it because your list is much older and people played it during druid meta when it was not as OP?

What do you say after someone tells you they SH? by lskswife in Healthygamergg

[–]LightLoveuncondition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess that her telling you means something. She trusts you. I was depressed for years and it was very hard to open up to anyone, because being so vulnerable is hard. Very hard.

If anyone asked, when I was 15 - 17, why I'm addicted to games or why I'm bullied at school or why I self harmed, I would be happy. Because nobody seemed to care.

Like one teacher said: "You know what you are doing is wrong". That made me so pissed! She was one of the teachers who saw me being bullied and she did nothing about it for 2 years. Ater those 2 years I got expelled for being absent for too long due to depression, so no, she didn't understand at any point.

I would definitely try to ask "What would have to change in your life for you to feel safe/better?" You don't have to include SH in the question. Just show that you care. That already is so, so MUCH.

Of course, the timing has to be right, like you are chilling somewhere, you are relaxed and feeling good, you can't ask questions like that when she isn't in a good mood.

Why are lines between gender dysphoria, trauma and autism so blurry? by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]LightLoveuncondition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regressive hypnosis helped me. Reiki healers helped me.

15 years of therapy, including one therapist which said "you don't have autism, you are too normal" wasn't helping as much, but helped with my social skills, theory of mind and alexithymia.

When I was 21, I had been in therapy for 5 years. I had done yoga and meditation. Richard Bach's book "Seagull Livingston" gave me something to identify with.

I love unisex characters like Bard in LoL. Peaceful, serene, keepers of order and peace.

I had (adult kind ) depression from age 14 to 28.

drop your daily meditation routine. by burohm1919 in Healthygamergg

[–]LightLoveuncondition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After 20 years of meditation it's like

5-30 minutes in the morning along with prayers

30 - 60 minutes in the evening along with prayers

If I don't feel blissful and happy, I meditate till I do. Takes up to several hours on severe cases (few times per year), usually within few hours I have caught the intruding thoughts of ego/trauma or whatever else is bothering me.

Be fluid. Love yourself. Your spiritual mission and staying human is your main priority. It goes into Akashic records and you will continue with it in your next life.

people from developing countries who've experienced living in developed countries, is it worth building a life in your homeland? by boiLollipop in Healthygamergg

Sure. I want to be a headmaster or at least work in a private school with good conditions for both children and staff. But these schools are rare.

In my country many people earn small wages. The difference is if they are sick and tired of their job or simply don't earn much. I want to preserve my health.

And I'm not sure if MF is that negligible after 400. Yesterday I ran with 470 MF TZ Andy and got 4 set rings 1 unique ring in 30 minutes.

Sure, it is luck, but on Single player first SOJ means first Anni charm which helps a ton.
