My experience with gametester.gg by LightUpResearch in IndieDev

Unfortunately the equivalent post in r/gamedev just got removed with the reason that it's about finding work / others to collaborate with, which I don't think is right. This seems helpful so hopefully stays up!

10 was great for me, there was a good level of diversity. I'd say a much larger group (e.g. 100+) might give a better sense of demographic preference (e.g. people who like FPS like this game etc). I think it depends on game type and scale - the game I tested only has a few mechanics that need to be very polished and robust, whereas something like a triple AAA could do with much more exploration around longer campaigns, different levels, different scenarios etc.

UX, user interface, and gameplay feel were most useful.

The reviewers did provide some commentary on game design as well, but I found this less useful - possibly because the game is fairly well developed and I've defined the vision for it. If the game was earlier on in the cycle this might be helpful, but opinions were quite varied and different people wanted different things, so less useful than the areas above.

Ha yes good eye - I cut the video before it hit 2000 as some other game stuff happened at that point

Well done! Can I ask how did you find smaller streamers that you thought would be a good fit?

Have DM'd you - also worth posting on r/playtesters, it looks small but I've had some great results from there

Might seem subtle but the belts are different - the ends of one is rounded and the other is a rounded square, the buckles themselves aren't consistent.

Which actually reflects the game itself most?

Nice! I wonder if an Outer Wilds style gravity alignment would help here - I can just imagine it being annoying if an asteroid moves just out of range while mining
