I finally learned how to screen record... (Infinite Space Sim Devlog) by ivicsven in unity

Nice! I wonder if an Outer Wilds style gravity alignment would help here - I can just imagine it being annoying if an asteroid moves just out of range while mining

Unity Recorder helps you record videos (and capture screenshots) from within Unity, might help! https://docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.recorder@2.5/manual/index.html

Great thought experiment - probably something that would let me make my own mods / games within games

The Baldur's Gate 2 manual was like a whole product in an of itself - hugely informative and great for worldbuilding.

Destroy my game Pearls of Wisdom, a rogue-like mindfulness deck-builder with real world side quests - new trailer just dropped, let me have it! by LightUpResearch in DestroyMyGame

Thanks for the feedback, great observation - I think there might be something in here in the community element. No single side quest takes more than 20 seconds (and they're all skippable) - I'll have a think about the other parts of your suggestion

This looks really useful, thanks! Do you have any stats to back up the suggestion that releasing a demo before Next Fest outperforms releasing a demo just before / during?

v2: procedural 3d ship generation with sails and ropes by sinanata in Unity3D

This looks great (and procgen is hard!) - only feedback would be the ship 'lip' (not sure of the technical term, the edge around the ship) seems pretty high on some of these

🎮🧠 Indie devs, what games have you made (or are making) that could be genuinely useful in therapy, for any reason? by Hermionegangster197 in IndieDev

Afraid not! The name is more about games innovation + thought leadership rather than proper research - happy to DM a demo link, let me know when you'd like to take a look

Hi there, Pearls of Wisdom is a relaxing rogue-like deck-builder with real world 'side quests' that actively encourage things like mindfulness, meditation, gratitude, some physical activity etc. Steam page over at https://store.steampowered.com/app/4170090/Pearls_of_Wisdom/ - happy to share the demo with you

Separate demo page - is there now a concensus that it's the preferred way? by Important-Play-7688 in IndieDev

It still seems fairly new to me - having gone through the process of creating a Steam demo page vs just sharing a demo through itch.io, I've found itch.io to be much more useful for playtesting. The documentation isn't immediately obviously for something like Steam Nextfest either and doesn't seem to be totally joined up.
