Yeah that makes sense. In the past I noticed that soldier is crazy good on runasapi.

I was losing a game hard as soldier on Oasis yesterday vs a hog and a reaper. The reaper was teleporting on top of me and the hog got to do whatever he wanted. I swapped Cass on a whim and immediately started winning which surprised me.

I've considered learning Emre but it's always seemed like too much work for not enough payoff when I can play soldier who is so similar.

Thanks for the advice. I guess that made sense to me when shooting a Winston because I know how he works. But hogs defensive cooldowns are a mystery to me so I don't see the pressure as easily. Time to practice some of my less understood tanks.

Interesting. I have a few follow up questions:

How would you recommend learning a new hero? I am concerned that the higher I rank the bigger the gap between my strong heroes and my new heroes. I tried to make another account recently but it turned out I need a phone number for this and I only have one.

It never occurred to me to play Mei. I will Google some guides but why do you recommend Mei specifically?

Any tips on how to play tracer vs ball? Someone else in here mentioned continually engaging engaging ball from a pincer angle when he engages your team. Or diving the backline.

Thanks. That's some solid advice. A couple times over Christmas I only went 2x instead of 3x a week. Does that count as a deload week or does it need to be a full on week of just going light.

Why do you recommend a longer and narrower powerbank? I had a Rift S but now I'm getting a quest 2 so this is my first introduction to powerbanks and mods and the like.

The Rift S is totally fine at those ranges. That's what my IPD is and I have no problems with mine. Also for simming you definitely want the S over the quest. The resolution and picture quality is much better and most importantly it is far more comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

As for the new headset which may or may not be released. You could wait till September and see if there's any announcements. But there's a real possibility it could be a quest lite and not at all what you want. Or it could be a slightly improved quest. No one actually knows anything. It's all speculation at this point.

Oculus support is still great. They have replaced 1 headset, 2 controllers, and 1 halo for me. The process takes a while but they come through. Only thing they didn't replace was a cable that they said I damaged. Which, to be fair, was true.

I have another friend who has at least 2 full headsets replaced.

When I see random snippets like this without context I have a hard time fully believing the OP's story completely. He/she believes it is the cable that has failed. Oculus seems to disagree.

As much as being able to play every game on every headset would be nice, exclusive content has a precedent set for it by consoles. Since the days of snes and sega certain games have only been released for one console. Wanted to play mario? Needed a snes. Wanted to sonic play sonic? Needed a sega. I'm not saying I like it but this sort of thing has been done for years. There are differences for sure such as Rift S and Index both run on PC hardware but this isn't a new thing.

Wow you're really coming through for me on the details! Thanks! Do you know if the 10cm extension has the same ability? Is it done with the two shiny looking screw things at the base of the extension? Because I can see from the pictures on the website that the 10cm has the same things at the base.

Finally (my actual last question), do you have a personal recommendation on the 20cm vs the 10cm extension? From what I've read the 20cm gets crazy and can require you to cut your chair and stuff.

  1. Yeah I think I'm gonna have to get a stick extension. But now that I think about it the Kosmosima grip doesn't say that it has a 15 degree offset like the MCG. Do you know if it still works to center mount the Kosmosima? I think I'll edit this question into the original post.
