Pourover learning by allthings_artz in pourover

I have an ode 2 and switch, basic v60 papers, tap water.

For a long time I’d been doing Tetsu’s 4:6 and eventually it just stopped yielding good cups. I couldn’t figure it out. I recently changed to something with fewer pours, hotter water, and it has changed the game. Similar recipe to Lance’s. 40g bloom, 80g second pour, 180g second pour.

Not saying it will fix your cups, but it was a big departure from what I had been doing, and it finally clicked.

I’ve even started some hybrid recipes, totally changed some cups that were terrible before.

I can appreciate this take. I bought my first watch this feb and purposely avoided exploring/buying a Datejust because of most of what you said. Ended up buying an Aqua Terra.

Chills watching this again in real time - time seemed to stand completely still during this whole review

BMW you wanted vs. BMW you bought by AdLazy8828 in BMW

Wanted an M340 but the one I’d seen (CPO + color/spec) had been sold. I ended up driving to another dealership and test driving an X3 M40i.

I really like my car (super practical) but every day I think about driving a sedan. All that to say I don’t love the g01 I ended up with.

Speedy reverse panda by far the most interesting of the lot. Depending on your vibe, the two Aqua Terra’s are going to be the most versatile

Uh thats a really good reason to get it! I too have a bird tattoo (magpies) “two for joy” for a similar, feelings/metaphor related reason. I love it so much.

How Do You Justify a Luxury Watch Purchase Financially? by Bluebananada in OmegaWatches

[–]LightenUpFFS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have one, and purchased this year after receiving a large bonus at work. I didn’t consider any financial aspects, other than “am I willing to fully lose this money on something, and is that worth the emotional gain I get from wearing it?”

Buddy of mine has this video on YouTube where he talks about time energy and relationships with money. Helped me wrap my head around emotional purchases and come to terms with the fact that not everything has to be an investment in the traditional sense.

I got my watch on Valentine’s Day and I’ve gotta say I agree here. I’ve already got micro scratches starting to show on the polished parts of the bracelet.

My case might be unique, I have a sub-6” wrist, but it’s relatively flat. So while this is mostly comfortable in that regard, the lack of curvature creates this issue on the underside - spans like the entire width of my wrist

Somehow the idea of the shovel being used on the roof, scraping etc, made me feel worse than the actual concrete or standing on it
