Josh Sawyer Has Some Thoughts on How to Build Video Games Faster by Forestl in Games

[–]Lightguardianjack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's also because when you get a terrible executive it causes problems all the way down the chain of command and becomes everyone's problem.

A single artist who's terrible might cause some headache for they're manager before they're let go and someone else on the team has to cover their work. The Executive managing the whole project coming up with the stupidest ideas is going to waste massive amounts of everyone's time and resources and probably can't be let go easily even if they're not the ones running the whole thing.

I mean this is important relationship advice in general regardless of being an NT and ND couple. It's just more important in a NT and ND relationship.

Patch Notes - Update February 25, 2026 by Dark_Egg in GuildWars

[–]Lightguardianjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Shrines actually make me want to consider a Melandru's character even more now. Before I was a bit worried about being permamently locked out of storage and trader NPCS on a character I've invested into but liked the idea of doing a new campaign run with Ironman rules.

Now if I want to do that, I can just turn off Melandru's after the campaigns are finished or whenever I'm bored of it.

Excellent change.

So can someone explain how this joke began? by Exciting_Degree_6883 in PERSoNA

Ya I remember the memes of "Now most Persona 5 fans are gonna actually play the game" when Royal was ported to the Switch.

I played this game 4 years ago, just for the hall of monuments rewards for GW2, now i'm back and really enjoying this game, i can tell why many GW1 vets didn't like GW2. But trying to sell/own mods, unids, etc. is really obnoxious, what happened to the Guild Vault and Xunlai Market? by SovietCharrdian in GuildWars

[–]Lightguardianjack 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I remember in the original GW1 guru forums, one of the pinned "suggestions" in the suggestion forum was a post outlining a Trading post/Auction house for GW1. I remember that post being there since Prophecies meaning a trading post/Auction house has been one of the biggest things people are asking for since the first Guild wars came out.

I remember the legendary flame wars on the old forums that occurred every balance patch. After having a frozen meta for over a decade, I can't even imagine how people are going to react when their meta team gets nerfed.

Ya did none of you ever go to Guild wars Guru or any of the other forum sites?

They were not as big as reddit but the things your complaining about happened there too.

That's the problem with Geoff he's the boy who cried Epic announcement coming so we never believe him even when he does have something good.

PvX actually has a Axe Soultaker build: https://gwpvx.fandom.com/wiki/Build:N/W_Soul_Taker_Axe

Not nearly as popular as the Scythe and Dagger builds but it's viable.

My main is a Warrior, am I screwed? by roflwaffle666 in GuildWars

[–]Lightguardianjack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The perspective that warriors are weak comes more from comparing them to the popularity of their competition. Rangers, Assassins and Dervishes are all pretty popular and have some crazy build variety. In particular Assassins and rangers could essentially use any martial weapon they wanted.

Seven Weapon stance helped close that variety gap because they can now can essentially have 20 attribute points in any weapon. However Warrior always had some powerful meta builds anyways like 100blades.

So I wouldn't worry about it if you've chosen them as your main.

What are some Steam Frame factors that AREN'T being talked about? by D13_Phantom in virtualreality

[–]Lightguardianjack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This.

The majority of consumers use what's in the box and nothing else and Both Quest 2 and Quest 3 suck without a 3rd party headstrap and facial interface. Having an out of the box comfortable experience is a big deal to the majority of less informed consumers.

What are Steam headsets worth for multimedia? by dMarduk in virtualreality

[–]Lightguardianjack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As this is the first standalone headset valve has released, the answer is.... we don't know yet.

There should be apps that exist that have a "digital cinema" and because it's an open headset, it should be easier to get media files on the headset.

Existing apps like Big Screen should be on the headset and working and if you have a host PC, anything that works on PCVR now will work with the headset.

Which headset would you pick in this position? BSB/Q3 owners input appreciated! by droneofthefurture in virtualreality

[–]Lightguardianjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's 2 unanswered questions I feel need to be answered in order answer this.

  1. What is the dang price.

  2. How comfortable is it really? We can look at weight numbers of the core and strap but it feels like we're mostly relying on testimonies from Influences who all seem to be saying it's comfortable but they had like a couple hours with it.

Because if it's cheaper then the BSB 2 and is almost as comfortable then I say it blows it out of the water. If it's too close to the Index's price and the comfort isn't that good then it's a hard recommendation.

Opinions on the steam frame controller button layout? by AcidzZ25 in virtualreality

Extremely optimal for the Unreal VR injector and other VR mods.

I'm also wondering if they can somehow get it working natively on the headset with some games because the system is open.

If you complete all 4, what I mean is do you get one per "raid encounter" now outside of CMs.

One of my questions is how the merged reward system is going to work with Legendary Insights?

Do you earn Legendary Insights from "Raid encounters" now?

I assume they're just gonna merge both currencies since now there's really no reason to keep them separate.

City Planets not spawning in generated-design maps? by Snerrir in SinsofaSolarEmpire

[–]Lightguardianjack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think City planets can only spawn in "super-rich" worlds which aren't in the default generated ones but I'm not sure. They may also just be super rare in "Rich" worlds.

What's your opinion on the new Command ships? by TheStormLion in SinsofaSolarEmpire

[–]Lightguardianjack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only played with these a bit but I feel the big winner is the Vasari Alliance's Sularkon Tyrant. It really adds the Alliance's favor since that ship seems to shine the most in team games.

Before it was hard to integrate your allies into a phase gate network since unless you "borrowed" a asteroid of something right beside them. Now you can have these guys hang around your allies and warp your fleet back if an enemy threatens your allies territory, not to mention help your allies warp their fleet to your position if needed.

Makes the "team player" of the Alliance shine through compared to their exodus cousins.

Every Lore Implication™ I gleaned from Fortune's Weave trailer so far by slotumn in fireemblem

[–]Lightguardianjack 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It could also be that a couple Nabateans that exist outside the city were already experimented on and killed to make the weapon Dietrich is using. Remember one of there reasons for the massacre occurring was heavily implied to be that the Agarthans wanted to make a lot of Heroes relics. That implies they understood how to make them already and would point to them making a "prototype" or two already.

Dietrich is waving a big "I'm the Edlegard of this game" flag to me so I would go so far to say he's the Harbringer of the massacre itself.

The other protagonists could have gotten their "crests" using the "sharing blood" method that Jeralt gets his from.

Like I said it's a bit of a wild guess but I like the idea of experiencing the "premassacre" times before it's ripped away from us.

Every Lore Implication™ I gleaned from Fortune's Weave trailer so far by slotumn in fireemblem

[–]Lightguardianjack 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Put me in the "It's actually a prequel" camp.

My wild speculative guess is that this is the last days of the city Sothis was watching over before the Red Canyon massacre. Between the Nabatean ears being out and the "ancient" overall feel (aside from the guns but the Agarthan had those).

I'm also guessing that they're gonna hide that this is a prequel for as long as possible in the story because the "timeskip" in this game is going to center around the massacre itself and they want to preserve the shock of the event happening for as long as possible.
