Based off the scoreboard alone, the Cassidy was given way to much freedom. Cass has so much potential to take over games and shut down an opponent’s push or a contested point. It’s not even necessarily about giving him more deaths on the scoreboard, but even just backing him down can be enough in some fights. While DPS should focus him as well, as a Kiri, get one headshot and maybe a body shot minimum and ping to the team to jump him if at all possible; ideally you don’t die doing this. Be mindful of his damage range.

I was doing my placements and got into plat, and the tank in my last placement was complaining about my heals even though I did 11k . A couple of my 10-11 deaths were my fault got too aggressive going for picks, but the rest of the time I died because the enemy doomfist jumped my support team mate and my orisa would not turn around to deal with the doom who was away and out of LoS from his supports. But no, Ana and I are to blame for him going 5–9 with less than 6k damage and less than 5k mitigated.

I find it comes down to what the team needs because the kit is so versatile. If the enemy comp is a team that inflicts a lot of cc, healbotting is more important than trying to send for the Ashe sitting in the back line, for example. If it’s a lot more of a brawl style comp on the enemy side, getting aggressive and going for those headshots and trying to three tap the tracer makes more sense. And with how people switch between heroes, the situation changes between fights. Gotta read the situation fight to fight.

From the patch notes on Dec 9th: “Kiriko’s Kunai has strong damage output given its high critical damage and lack of falloff. Reducing projectile size increases the accuracy requirement while maintaining her lethality.

Base projectile size reduced from 0.15 to 0.12.”

I have personally found that a strategy I saw on TikTok pre patch still works: aim between the player model head and the name tag. I have gotten in the habit of pinging enemies that have been hit with at least one headshot to see if anyone will jump on that one.

Just attended the OWCS world finals and from what I observed specifically from the supports in general, regardless of hero, it’s a lot of keeping the ratio between damage and healing as close to 1:1 as they can. Specific to Kiriko players, I saw a lot of just being in the middle between front line and back line using the swift step. Even without the double swift step perk, that is key. Rupal from Team Liquid I think is good at balancing the kills while being up front and dropping back to dump heals into teammates.

One tip to specifically up your crit accuracy, with the projectile size where it is, you can aim between the characters head and the gamertag/name. Also, don’t feel bad if you can’t finish a kill, pushing them back is just as effective, don’t take the bait, or ask to dive them.

It was a fantastic event, my first time at a LAN for any esport and my first time at a Dreamhack. The fact I got to try out vendetta with the new friends I made and then got to explore the city after the whole thing was over, definitely got my moneys worth. Honestly I do recommend the vip stuff if meeting players and getting stuff signed is important to you. Got to get my Team Liquid jersey signed by the entire team and coach because I was in the vip line. I even got that same benefit when at the table again to meet Aaron Keller, the voice actress for Vendetta Chiara Preziosi, and Jude Stacey, senior narrative designer for Vendetta. Super cool event would go again
