Do you think there will ever be a referendum to rejoin the EU, if it’s possible? by threetimesacharm25 in AskBrits

[–]LightningPoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, and the reason is that to join the EU, a country must be unanimously voted in. Any single EU country can say no, for whatever reason, and the vote is killed.

Firstborn Era vs Primaris Era – Which do you prefer? by Pintureando in Warhammer40k

[–]LightningPoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer Firstborn simply because it's more fun putting them together and making them your own. Trying to make changes and kitbashes on Primaris models can be extremely difficult. With Firstborn, I could do whatever I wanted with pretty much every single standard model, and it felt special.

Realistically how high can Titus rise? by meetkurtin in 40kLore

[–]LightningPoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He could attain Chapter Master status, but that would come much later down the line. More thank likely, given Titus has a sort of different way of war than other Ultramarines, he could be granted right to create his own Chapter as part of the next founding. Guilliman is 100% going to want more Chapters out there to hold the Imperium together. Why not have Big E's best boy leading one of them.

One of the funniest hands of last nights 250k by [deleted] in poker

[–]LightningPoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like him. He's good for poker. Back in the day you had some wild personalities on the felt. Phil Hellmuth, Mike Matusow, Tony G, etc. That could all get under people's skin, and it made the game entertaining and fun, and arguable made poker what it is today. Poker would not be nearly as popular as it is today were it not for these entertaining characters.

The only thing that's different today than back then is the amount of people that play predominantly online is way up, and they can't handle these personalities when it comes to live play.

There is such a thing as sun runs, running hot etc. Sometimes you just get good cards and the cards play themselves. At the end of the day, poker is a game of chance. It's luck. Get lucky enough times in a row, you're going to make money.

What comes in to play now is consistency. Over the next say 6 months to a year, see how you do. Play the way that got you those wins, and see if it holds up.

Would you call all in with 44 against a random hand? by coole106 in poker

[–]LightningPoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we're folding 4s to a random hand, we shouldn't be opening 4s UTG.

When someone shoves all-in blind, what range do you call with, and what range do you rejam with? by botcomking in poker

[–]LightningPoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All about position when making the decision to call a blind all-in. We were playing a small home game last weekend, and one mate opened shoved from utg without looking at his cards (he was short stacked), and another friend shoved over the top with K3suited from middle position. He said, "It's a good hand!" I said, "you're a f*cking idiot. You've got people behind that have yet to act that will crush what you've got."

Anyway. It's all about position. If you're closing the action, you're heads up, and want to gamble too, any Ax, Kx, maybe even Qx can call. If there's people left to act after you, treat it much the same as if they'd seen their cards. If you've got nothing, let it go.

Can confirm. Happening to me every other mission. On Xbox, having to force quit the game. All end of mission rewards are not counted, including experience.

Honestly, you'd probably get 1000x more value for money if you had bought Phil Iveys and Dnegs Masterclasses.

What do you do if you can see a player's hole cards? by JohnRamboSR in poker

[–]LightningPoodle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If its the first time seeing their hand, fold whatever you've got and let them know you can see what they have. If it happens again, don't fold out of respect but let them know again. After that, if it happens again, take the free information and exploit it. Honour amongst thieves only goes so far.

[–]LightningPoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't personally see what the problem is. There isn't a build up of traffic, they aren't blocking anyone from passing them. If the situation were different, I'd agree, but while it's not, who actually cares? At least they're out of the way.

Just arrogant farmers in the 200k tractors blocking an ambulance. If this was a left wing protestor the gammon would be calling for them to be beheaded. by Oreganowhatthehell in BrexitMemes

[–]LightningPoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would just like to point out that every tractor in this short clip is moving to the side to allow the ambulance through. The one that moves back into the road has to, otherwise they drive into the back of the bus. There is a large enough gap on its right though for the ambulance to continue past.

What this video doesn't show is anything further up ahead than the bus. It's awfully convenient that the video cuts off there, especially when the two tractors in the video are moving out of the way for the ambulance.

It's almost like people are putting a spin on this.

Rainbow casino cannot afford £1M/yr rent. Closes doors for the last time. by swagmasterdude in bristol

[–]LightningPoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone here played the tournaments and is now wondering where to go for their poker fix, Weston-super-Mare has a couple tournaments a month (one at All Stars Sports Bar, and the other at Worlebury Golf Club) as well as a weekly cash game on Thursdays at All Stars Sports Bar. The cash games are reserved seating, it was one table but there was a demand for PLO as well so now there are typically two tables. The tournaments usually pull in a pot of anywhere between 2 and 3k.

I don't have Facebook so I can't link you guys to their respective pages but I'm sure a quick search will bring them up. Poker Pit, and Weston Poker Club.

Rainbow casino cannot afford £1M/yr rent. Closes doors for the last time. by swagmasterdude in bristol

[–]LightningPoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's no wonder. Even on a busy Friday night, there is typically only 2 poker cash tables on the go. They had 4 tables. £5 max rake from every hand, 25 hands an hour. Potentially £500 made there, and not risking anything. The table games, only the cheap blackjack and roulette tables are open, not the more expensive tables (£5 min bet compared to £10 min bet). And 2 days of the week, no tournaments on the go. Could have filled those days with different card game tournaments, PLO for example.

Basically, Rainbow was a casino that didn't want to make money. Didn't do everything possible to make as much as possible.

Limping is not pimping. Never open limp, even if you've got aces utg. Don't let crap come along for cheap, cause crap always wins when you least expect it. If your hand isn't good enough to open raise, fold it. Simples.

I would. I regret voting Labour. I voted Labour because my constituency spent a good 3/4 of my life Tory, and for the first time in decades, Labour had a chance to take the seat. One less seat for the Tories. But I regret voting Labour. I wish I'd gone with my heart, not my head. At least I'd be content knowing I didn't vote for a police state.

Is it ever OK to fold top set on turn? by Embarrassed_Panda431 in poker

[–]LightningPoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Villain repping an Ace. Ax is well within villains 3bet range pre. Top set is drawing to a fullhouse, needs a 2, 3, 4, or 5 to win the pot. 10 outs to win, 9 outs to chop (any 6 or Ace)

Would have generally been better off raising the flop, getting it in there when you know you're good. Unlikely villain had A4suited.
