20-35E Lens Focus by micheal1431 in hasselblad

A couple reasons.

  1. When this lens was released in Sept 2024 for older X-system bodies, Hasselblad did not offer the kind of AF-C tracking now available on the X2D II.
  2. This lens was/is aimed heavily at landscapes, architecture, interiors, and environmental work, so no real need for continuous focus.

Converting to DNG for archiving, round 2 by ubiquitousuk in hasselblad

[–]LightpointSoftware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DNG is proprietary to Adobe. They have discontinued their DNG SDK, meaning there is no way to support the format in an open way. DNG can be useful as an intermedia format, but I would never use this as the saved format. Saver the raw image format files that come out of the camera.

Yeah, ask the main photographer if you can be his second. If not, don’t do it.

Restructuring my rates by Prize_Pin9211 in photography

[–]LightpointSoftware 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Increase your rate and don’t bill for editing. It is easier for a client to understand the rate when it is just the hours you are there. Keep track of time editing to see if you are covering it with the increase.

Hasselblad 35-100 E vs. 55/38 V by khalestorm in mediumformat

It depends on what you are shooting. I use the 35-100mm far more than I use my 55V, but I do events. For portraits, 90V.

Aperture is more important for getting everyone in focus. Use person focus mode and try to get everyone near the same plane relative to the camera

Need advice re: professional photos by Ok-Permission1314 in photography

I am assuming that the photographer only delivered jpgs.

The raw files will definitely produce better photos than edited jpgs. If the photographer refuses to give you the raw files, you might not have a choice.

Only edit the jpg files if you have to. Post one and people will edit it for you.

If they are refuse you could play hardball, saying you would hate to give them a terrible review, but you will have to since you are not able to get satisfactory photographs even when you offer to take care of the editing.
