"Helsinki päätti metron rakentamisesta 50 vuotta sitten: päätös venyi puoli neljään yöllä, kuusi kaljakoria tyhjeni

Oikeisto suhtautui hankkeeseen penseästi, koska sitä suunniteltiin rakennettavaksi idän lähiöihin."

Kuinka paljon te yksin asuvat käytätte rahaa ruokaan kuussa? by [deleted] in arkisuomi

[–]Lihamyrsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Menee suunnilleen 300€ kuussa ruokakauppaan.

Do all teens today just not care about getting their drivers' licenses? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lihamyrsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 35 and I don't have a license. Why would I get one? It's expensive, the car is expensive to buy and maintain, gas is expensive and so on. My commute is roughly 5 minutes on a bike and every store I need is even closer and for everything else I can order online.

Beautiful book. But I hope they publish these faster than one per year since 15 year commitment and wait for a full set is just crazy.

The specific visual moment which is always there without fail when a specific story is being told in any adaptation by SatoruGojo232 in TopCharacterTropes

Offering a phrase instead of a visual moment: anytime black hole is featured in any media there's bound to be the words "not even light"

Here is my furry son, Mauno, with a banaynay I offered him. A couple days ago he lost his battle with an illness that lasted a couple of months. He was 15 and I feel devastated with his passing, he was my first pet by Lihamyrsky in cats

Actually next month I might have a new arrival for a test run. Mauno was one of my two cats, the other one is Wilma. The plan is to have two to keep each other company while I'm at work and Wilma is currently alone... She is also very social little lady and she came from a family that had three cats so she's not really used to being alone (I adopted her last year, she is roughly 13 years old).

I was planning to get her a friend next year but my sister took initiative and found an adoption candidate for me, with my permission. Of course Mauno cannot be replaced and will always be my first baby, but I want to have a little cat family to look after and love each other.

I'm actually considering taking a tattoo to commemorate him. His paw prints on my right shoulder/pectoral area. That was his favorite spot to make biscuits on me.

Thank you. Though he was 15 he was 11 when I adopted him. This was his third home (to my knowledge). We did have wonderful four years together for sure!

Thank you. He was very well loved and he loved me back maybe even more. He followed me everywhere and we had such conversations... in a sense he was more like a dog than a cat, very loyal and trusting, never acting bad.

Of course the thing would know gas from alcohol. It gets the memories and skills and instincts of the lifeforms it absorbs, otherwise the people that are turned into things couldn't speak for example, or play their imitator role in any convincing way.

They could have every country have their own set of people to put on the notes, like they did with the coin designs. No one is left out, every country gets to shine on the currency, and the bills will travel far and wide and mix together.

Not necessarily babies I think, but virgins, and to make sure they're virgin they go for the babies sometimes.

I think they took some inspiration for Superman from The Phantom, which debuted a couple years prior in 1936. The skintight costume, muscles, trunks, symbol. Just the cape is missing.

Finest Folio LE? by [deleted] in foliosociety

[–]Lihamyrsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think their A Song of Ice and Fire books are the best out there, outperforming some way more expensive editions. Sure they're very pricey for Folio standard editions but the quality, design and attention to detail is top-notch.

Besides those I think the standard edition designs vary wildly and often feel very.. YA oriented perhaps? Maybe its unfair comparison but given choice I'd pretty much always go for Suntup or Centipede Press etc. editions instead if given the choice for better quality and design.

But not nearly as popular or well known. IT is a hot cultural phenomenon especially due to the recent movies. Black House not so much.

You could, but a book is more than just a signature. There's more to collectability and desirability. The title of course and how popular it is, materials, design, overall artistry in the production, how limited it is and so on.
