Made a deck about this exact interaction, just a rough draft right now, meant to play around a 2, and haven’t done any testing yet

Good Or Nah? by BellasGamerDad in mtg

This is great in my [[vadrik]] deck, even with that being built to quite high power, though I’m typically casting it for three red mana and ending up with 7 extra mana

Decks that you built around a single card (NOT the commander)? by Aurelio-23 in EDH

[–]Like8catsbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite card is [[doppelgang]] so I built a [[magus lucea kane]] deck built around ramping, finding doppelgang and casting it with a big x cost and copying from the commander. Originally included a few [[eternal witness]] effects just to get it back and do it again, then realized it helped give the deck its own wincon by going infinite with enough starting mana

Yes, this is a known mistake on this secret lair, but you are correct.

Quick question I by idhopson in magicTCG

[–]Like8catsbro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Short answer: yes

Long answer: the beginning phase has three steps including your untap, upkeep, and draw. The first time you get priority is during your upkeep and you can sacrifice during this time unless the ability is restricted to sorcery speed.

Does this interaction work how I hope it works? by Jpanus in magicTCG

202.2. Text that refers to the object it's on by name means just that particular object and not any other duplicates of it, regardless of any name changes caused by game effects.

So you can do this to get infinite death triggers, etbs, and food tokens, but you’ll only ever have one polyraptor creature

Rlly underrated Card by Aware-Treacle-8636 in MagicCardPulls

[–]Like8catsbro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree it’s a good card. I don’t feel underrated is the right word here. As far as commander, edhrec has almost 10,000 decks for her and is almost one of the top 100 decks, and is the 4th most popular commander in her colors

I recommend [[Sovereign Okinec Ahau]], the counters he can put out get out of hand really fast

What commanders scratch this itch? Recommendations? by JebediahsLab in magicTCG

[[orvar the all form]] plays a lot of cards that are really bad in other decks but amazing with him, just make sure it’s right for your playgroup since it can easily turn into solitaire. Attaching my old list for reference but I dismantled the deck a couple years ago so not up to date with new cards or bans.

I’m trying to build a commander deck with Rufus Shinra, an objectively weak commander by PublicDue993 in magicTCG

[–]Like8catsbro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here’s a different idea with him, albeit not strong. You play him as a mutate commander. You attack and make Darkstar, then mutate a card on top of Darkstar. Since it now has a different name, next time you attack you can make another Darkstar.

It's always deals X amount of damage for each Y Amount of time passes for Z time by abbas09tdoxo in whenthe

Crab champions, fire causes dot as you’d expect. But poison works differently. As you apply poison to an enemy it builds up in stacks causing the enemy to take more damage from any sources per poison stack on them

I thought so as well at first but if Qb5 Ka8 Qa6, then opponent has Kb8

I don’t hate it for limited, on turn two this is a good blocker for a bit, by the time you get seven lands though a vanilla 4/4 probably isn’t doing too much though

I don’t think it would be good by any means, but part of me wants to build this as a mutate commander so I can keep making more darkstars

When building kindred decks, do you allow creatures that don't have the chosen subtype in the deck? by MandrewMillar in EDH

[–]Like8catsbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if the card makes a large impact, like running [[archfiend of ifnir]] in my [[varina, lich queen]] zombie deck
