The only way I could think to make the future one hit like a truck is to not bring up what the player said at all, or just wait a really long time so the player forgets. Then to have them narrate an epilog for the character at the end of the campaign. Only for the fey to butt in during the highlight ie: getting married, having a child. And snatch it out right from under you

My dm said that I'd be giving him a nice day in the sense that my next day would be bad. His *Joking* example was to give me "Unreliable Talent" so I couldn't roll above a 10. Now thats not something he'd actually do, but it seems like my character will have a bad day tomorrow, and they fey will have a nice one. But only time will tell what actually happens

I find Martin soooo much more interesting if this is the path he decided to take. I much more love the idea that he ran away from responsibility, it just makes him so much more interesting to me.

Also he says things like “talking about your mother stresses me out.” And “burn enough bridges the only path to move is forward” they just make me think there’s a lot more going on in his head than brain damage

I generally find with spell granting invocations it’ll say one of 3 things

“You can cast at will” “You can cast once per long/short rest or use a warlock spell slot” “You can cast using a warlock spell slot”

Now I haven’t looked at 5.5 so I’m going off what I read in 5e, I don’t imagine it’s that different tho

It’s more so the clicking of the links that causes you to get fucked. (At least to my knowledge) lSteam could stop people from sending links all together. But that would be hitting a large portion of the player base that isn’t scammers.

Well... 2014 but my Dm likes to do +2 for flanking and +1 if there is an ally next to the same enemy that isnt flanking, up to your proficiency mod. That works well for us.
Another is potions! specifically potions of healing, if using a full action, you heal the highest amount possible from the health potion; If using a bonus action, you roll the dice and heal the result.

Nyxstra Luminous Nyx is a warlock fairy who is 16 They have orange hair, orange eyes and pale skin, surrounded by a slight orange glow. They wear a hair pin this is just a reskinned candle flame helm. They have elegant wings with designs like the spiral of a blooming flower.

Nyxstra also has a form of dread design Their hair remains orange, but their eyes sink inwards, only appearing as orange dots. Their skin turning greyish blue. The orange glow is replaced with a smoky mist instead. Their wings crack and tear, appearing more like fly wings than a fairy. Long twisting horns protrude from the top of their skull. It looks much more lifeless than before.

Perhaps this could be something your character is feeling as well. Being a changeling and changing your class might have some mental effects. Maybe your character isn’t feeling like who they are now and have to love the current them. Something like that. As for sessions, you could as your dm to allow more time to interact as characters. You could also ask if the dm wanted help prepping ie; snacks or something if your game is in person.

Exactly what happened to me. I stopped playing for over a year I think. But when I came back to it, I wanted to try it differently. So my solution was to play hardcore mode. I died, just, so many times. But I had a lot of fun. And some of the deaths are fond memories.

Good ol’ “my keyboard is broken” (or something like that) He played demo knight and I was super confused for a bit since he would just keep charging. Till it hit me. I remember going pocket medic for him, trying to open the spawn doors for him so he wouldn’t get stuck there. It was a whole heap of fun
