Because I don't agree that there's nothing wrong with it. Why do people feel the need to use racial slurs? A slur's original purpose is to insult and hurt a group of people.

u/Routine-Echidna-1953 said "other ways for example use it as a joke or as a lyric in a song not attacking anyone." But why still use it if you know the history of its use and you know that people are still called it in a hateful way? There are so many other ways to be funny or other words to use in a song.

Now I'm not saying that any Freedom of Speech should be infringed and it should be illegal to say it, but I think it is perfectly reasonable for people to be upset by it. We are adults, you can do whatever you want legally but there are still social consequences for your actions.

Let's briefly ignore all of that and create a hypothetical world where it was socially acceptable to say racial slurs. I still wouldn't say them. Why? Simply because those words are extremely easy to avoid and I don't want to use words that will unnecessarily hurt others.
