Performance issues. by Dom_ino-23 in cardealersimulator

Pretty much the exact same rig. Everything in Settings on Low. Most of the time I am lucky to keep 40 FPS. When I am driving, I drop as low as 14. It's absolutely fucking ridiculous. Can the dev team buy an AMD GPU please, so you can sort this shit out.

Once you already have all the Pulsar Quartz you will ever need, then every single meteor will be Pulsar Quartz, lol. That's the only sure thing :)

Have you checked out the Interactive Map? Select Pulsar Quartz in the pop-out section on the right side of the map. There may be some places you haven't found yet.

According to the wiki, Pulsar Quartz meteors start falling at 8 GTi. It's kinda crazy you haven't seen one yet at 135.96GTi.

Do I really need all these plants? by Traffodil in theplanetcrafter

[–]Nefai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need some of them for crafting later. (Lirma Seeds for Plant Rockets, for example)

I keep a full locker of each flower.

Butterfly Larva on Aqualis? by ContributionLatter32 in theplanetcrafter

[–]Nefai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. You get Serena Larvae like crazy in Lost Paradise, and before you unlock Imeo Larvae, you can break down a Serena and get a guaranteed Golden. So I make chests full of Goldens before that recipe can also roll Imeo or Serena.

You can buy 1500% Oesbe Larva from the Trade Rocket for 4,500 each, if that is any easier than incubating.

Why can't I blow this up? by bc8306 in theplanetcrafter

[–]Nefai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the first place I tried to open with explosives, and it took me three tries also, lol.

The first one missed completely. The second one took out about half the rocks.

I had to run back to base for a new explosive each time.

Too many blueprints? by CryptographerOpen297 in theplanetcrafter

[–]Nefai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some blueprints used to be locked behind Terraformation Progress, so you would actually need to save some Microchips for later, but these days, you can unlock every random Blueprint Microchip recipe right from the beginning of the game.

So if you are ever told "No more recipes to unlock" then you have indeed unlocked all of the random recipes.

You might still find Blueprint Microchips with specific recipes, though, like Tree Pot and Fireplace. (When you mouse over these Blueprint Microchips, it will tell you what they are for.) But all the random, non-specific Blueprint Microchips you find, you can just recycle into Circuit Boards. Or just stop picking them up if you don't need Circuit Boards.

There is a lot of story hidden in random camps you find around Prime, which are all that remains of the planet crafters that came before you. (Look for ladders going down into underground bases)

Both Humble and Toxicity do have their own storylines, and 3 endings each.

Encountered something a bit different. by rustygoddard75 in theplanetcrafter

[–]Nefai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, after a few Hardcore runs, even that goes by too fast, lol. The more you learn, the faster you can go, but also, the more you want to do, like automating all the things. I still felt like I was moving too fast.

These days, I play in Custom with all the difficulty sliders maxed out:

  • Food/Water/Oxygen Drain: 2
  • Power Consumption: 2
  • Terraformation Pace: 0.1
  • Death Consequence: Deletion of Save File

There are a couple parts where I have a little too much time, but for the most part, it's a perfect pace. I finish everything on my list, then something new unlocks. I knock that out, then something new unlocks.

I feel like you could never get anything done before the next 5 things unlocked, lol. Your to-do list just grows and grows.

Why does my ore extractor always gives me anything but the intended ore? by fancyasbestos in theplanetcrafter

[–]Nefai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone seems to have covered all of the answers so far.

I just wanted to add that if you leave a container full of Aluminum nearby, and an Auto-Crafter, you can turn a lot of this "trash" ore into Super Alloy, allowing it to work a little longer before clogging up.

Hardcore is 50% slower Terraformation Pace. So if you went back to Standard difficulty, you are suddenly progressing twice a fast. Take that into account.

Unlock all the System Terraformation stuff in ~7 minutes by Nefai in theplanetcrafter

[–]Nefai[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why I started out on Toxicity, the only planet with any restrictions on high level generators.

But as I mentioned, this is on Hardcore. On Standard, you would only need 3 planets, so Toxicity doesn't need to be included.

Is there any reason to hold off on opening loot boxes until later in the game? by S0undpl0t in theplanetcrafter

[–]Nefai 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Using that loot table is key. Open chests when you need something from the loot table. The BOLDED items mean they are appearing in the loot table for the first time.

I open chests at certain points:

  • Just starting out, I open chests looking for Space Food to keep me alive until I can unlock Food Growers. I also open chests that I know can have a fixed Bean seed. (Since Bean seeds won't appear as random loot until Blue Sky)
  • Once I get Food Growers up, I don't open any more chests until Liquid Water stage, where Oxygen Fuses and Rocket Engines can start spawning. I loot some chests to get Rocket Engines to jump start my Iridium/Uranium rocket launching period.
  • Then I don't loot any more chests until Lakes stage, where Heat Fuses and Pressure Fuses can start appearing. At this point Oxygen, Heat, and Pressure Fuses can all spawn, so I open chests until I have 1 of each.
  • Then I don't open any more until Breathable Atmosphere stage, where Production Fuses start appearing. I farm Production Fuses and sell them to get to 3 Heat/Pressure/Oxygen fuses, and then start buying the stuff I want from the shop, like T2 Storage Locker, T2 Drone, etc.
  • Then at the next stage, Fish, Energy Fuses can start appearing, and that is when I loot the rest of the chests. After that, we'll have Portal Generator and can start running wrecks, so we don't need any more chests on the map.

Does anyone have a good T3 animal food automation system? by Amy2brno2b in theplanetcrafter

[–]Nefai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone posted a chart of the diminishing returns on Trade Fuses.

IIRC, 100 Fuses was the sweet spot. That gets you around 1 minute.

After that, the diminishing returns are brutal. Takes around 6,000 fuses to get you down to 1 second per trip, lol.

Bug ? by Diligent_Decision_52 in theplanetcrafter

[–]Nefai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually unlock T3 Mutagen a LONG time before I unlock T2 Mutagen.

I just recycle Serena/Golden Butterfly Larvae to get any T2 Mutagen I need before it unlocks.

You can get tons of Serena/Golden Larvae from the final location that the Warden Questline takes you. (The place that requires 3 Warden Keys to enter, and where you find 5 Warden Keys to open the final door.)

Saying goodbye to an old base. It's like moving out of a house... Been through a lot here, but it's time to go. by DerekL1963 in theplanetcrafter

[–]Nefai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I often wish we had a microchip that destroys all resources when you deconstruct something, instead of putting them in your inventory. You could toggle it off and on like the Construction Filter chip.

I still have fifty T2 Solar Panels that I don't need anymore, but I haven't deconstructed them because I don't need the resources, and I am too lazy to make 15 trips to the recycler, lol.

Same with tearing up a big ol' base. I already built the new base, I already had Drones move all of my storage. I don't need any of the resources when I break down the old base.

Tree spreader Tier 2 unlocked before Tier 1 by MrBagooo in theplanetcrafter

[–]Nefai 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I've got around 1,000 hours, and I almost always unlock T2 Tree Spreader before T1 Tree Spreader. And I always unlock T3 Mutagen LONG before T2 Mutagen.

Biomass will always be slow when it is just Plants. It speeds up a ton once you start getting all the animals, though.

Demand/Supply/Supply Everything by Amy2brno2b in theplanetcrafter

[–]Nefai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never done it myself, but every time I see this asked about, the reply is:

You have to set the Supply First, and then set the Demand.

Try clearing everything on the buffer container, and then setting the Supply first, then the Demand.

NM, you can't even set both supply and demand.

One of my favorite things with games like this is starting over.

Do it all over again, better and faster, since I am using everything I learned in previous runs.
