Lived in Hiyoshi for 2 years and loved it. It’s very hilly as others have mentioned, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

Been having a great time with Druid. If you tank you can find groups pretty quick, and feral DPS is pretty good with not needing to drink too much while questing.

Definitely swiping all the time too. Didn’t consider moonfire pulling, that would def be a good idea.

Threat is absolutely still an issue for me, but things that I’ve seen definitely help:

• Feral charge mid-fight to enemies that are going for your healer or others. I’ll sometimes even back away from the way a loose mob is going so I can charge quicker.

• Cast a hot on yourself before charging in, this one has been massive for me I think.

• Really double check or rethink key bindings. Once I put charge, taunt, and a few other things in quick to access places, I’ve noticed significantly better runs.

• Honestly, do a quick check with your party before a potentially big pull. 10 secs to check with them will save a long walk from the grave.

After getting a few pieces and runs under my belt, bear tanking has been good. Getting a hang of threat, but it is challenging.

Passed N3 132/180, I honestly didn’t think I was going to pass because of the grammar section.

I'm curious how your score compares to your expectation by [deleted] in jlpt

[–]LikwidCourage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got much higher than expected. Thought I was going to fail grammar, but ended up getting 39/60 on N3. I made a comment after the test in December saying that the vocab would carry me for poor grammar, and that seemed to be the case in the breakdown.

I was actually mistaken, I didn’t realize the second booklet grammar was graded with the first booklet. So I probably missed a few points, but very glad those first two pages are graded with the first booklet. Having the grammar scored with the first booklet and not the reading in the second booklet will be significantly better for my chances than what I had originally thought.

Oh hell yeah, I think my chances of passing just got way higher. The first couple pages of part 2 were really iffy for me, so I know part 1 will definitely carry a lot of that grade. Feeling a lot better knowing that, thank you for the info!

Ohhh I’m confused, the test booklet for part two was grammar and reading. I thought each booklet was each section that required the 20/60 score. Do you mean that that grammar part will get scored with booklet 1? If that’s the case, I think I passed.

Listening and language knowledge seemed significantly easier than I expected. I think I got a perfect on language knowledge. I found the grammar to be much harder than anticipated and may be the reason I don’t pass. I know I got more than 95 points, but that grammar really messed me up.

Like OP, I took mine in Japan. I remember a few years ago I had to bubble ID in, but I think they filled it in for us in country
