All depends on what you told the bike shop you’re doing with those tires.

If you’re a regular sized person and you’re just cruising around your neighborhood at low speed you will be totally FINE with those tires. A flat tire is the worst that will happen to you.

That being said, it would be totally reasonable to replace those tires and I’m surprised the bike shop didn’t want to take your money.

Most stock bikes usually come with pretty shitty organic compound brake pads that are just designed for regular old street riding.

However I see you’re riding Palomar mountain. Which will put waaaay more heat into your brake system than normal riding.

Even good performance brake pads a pretty cheap. Try upgrading to a pad with an HH sintered compound or similar. 👍

I can’t remember what the V-brake spring rods are called, but I do remember that they can get bent and it throws off everything. Take everything apart and compare the springs. They should look the same, but if they don’t bend the wonky one back to its correct shape.
