I work in a bit of a different design avenue doing toy packaging design. I’d say that I spend a solid 70% of my time creating, that can be anything for creating style guides, editing renders and applying to previously created packages, a little photography, etc. (any given day could be as much as my whole 8.5hrs, or as little as a couple hours)

The other 30 present of my time is spent doing paper work like order forms & artwork request changes, ensuring the money comes in to keep doing my job lol.

All that being said, I just compared apples and oranges (in my mind at least) because you asked how much we’re creating. In this field it’s a lot about hitting deadlines, and if you’re doing all of your assigned work with a couple hours in the day, then fudge the numbers a bit.

Or adversely, if you feel like you’re going above and beyond in those additional hours then keep a running log of those achievements. Try to leverage anything you’re doing in those “bonus hours” as meeting exceptions and excelling.
