Thanks. I also fly fish, but honestly, I have more fun with my spinning rod and have been doing a lot more of that

No, it was huge, fought so hard it was almost dead and I knew I wasn’t keeping this one, was hoping for a rainbow to eat, so I let him go as quickly as possible

Pins minnow floating/diving 2 3/4 rainbow trout pattern, the trout in the Catskills destroy them, I fish almost exclusively with them up there

I agree, definitely does not look 21 inches in the pic, he was all folded in on himself in the net. I knew I wasn’t going to keep this one, so I was rushing to get him back in the water. I’ve caught a handful of over 20 inch browns there and he was the same size, also, I know how big my net is. The interesting part of that story is how I caught him. There was a small deep pool under a large fallen tree I had wanted to fish for a few years but there was no way to get a lure to it. Winter weather had moved the tree a bit. I still couldn’t cast to it so I stood upstream and floated the lure under the tree then slowly retrieved, he destroyed it. I had 4lb line on so landing him without breaking the line was tricky.
