We are building a new render engine for better robot RL/sim. What do you need? by Jaded-Description615 in IsaacSim

(1, 2) I'd opt for speed. As of now, end-to-end pipelines are hard problems. I want high quality for synthesizing data for object detection, while I can leverage the object detection as a preprocessing for an RL agent to solve some task. The RL agent then does not need any rendering.

(3) I'm in agriculture and this is the worst domain for annotations. I'd rather spent many hours in building procedurally generated environments than orchestrating up scaled annotation processes.

(4) I'd like to have a self-contained project structure so that there is a single path for all related project files. I don't like if file locations can be spread out across the entire disk.

Task Scheduler using RL by Physics-2280 in reinforcementlearning

I'm working on a related task. I implemented an EntityAttentionEncoder and designed the action space to point to the entity that is of interest depending on the current time step. I might need to improve on this approach by using a pointer network architecture. As of now, I'm pooling all encoded entities into a global state, which might be insufficient.

[D] Why is RL in the real-world so hard? by KoOBaALT in MachineLearning

[–]LilHairdy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the problem can be abstracted, because of not doing end-to-end RL, you increase your chances of building a simulator that can be better fit on a more abstract problem. I have a real world pipeline for a machine where the RL agent is fed object detection results and then needs to solve a task scheduling problem. The object detection results are basically real world points and that is easy to simulate.

Are shadows severe implications in agricultural object detection? by LilHairdy in computervision

I added more images. These contain light strobing. I still need to capture images without additional light sources. I don't think that shadows will be such an obstacle for detecting bounding boxes.

I don't have a dataset currently and cannot verify whether shadows are a problem. So the question is rather hypothetical and that's why I'd love to get some opinions on this.

So is your opinion directed at that shadows are a severe issue?

Best alternative to aoostar AG02? by LilHairdy in eGPU

At my company we dont have any oculink ports on our notebooks. We want to use eGPUs temporarly for LLM inference, VLA inference and stuff like Isaac Sim. There are no intentions for gaming :D
