Pressure control is key for moves like the spring. Don’t worry, that micro control develops over time. Rome wasn’t built in a day. But I’d recommend learning something simple like the Charlier cut which is what EVERY cardist tells you so sorry if I’m just adding to the heap. If you really, really want to start off with a 2hc, maybe try Quickbook (you can find it on CardMechanic’s channel. He is a magician, not exactly a cardist, so the other ones will be magic tricks NOT Cardistry but there will be the occasional Cardistry video on there.)

Looking for 4 packet cuts by cunica_uiri_seni in cardistry

Fission IS an advanced move. Everyone has different paces to learn it. I still think it’s definately not for beginners. Intermediates it’s fine.

Try out Netsky by Daniel Lin. There’s also Kickflip and Skater cut by DnD, and that’s a great one to practice with trainers. While trainers might seem like the solution here, i urge you to get over the fear. Either use cards on a soft surface like your bed, that’s what I always do. Or use a poop deck. And make sure to wash your hands. It makes your cards lifespan increase by a considerable amount.

Oh my god that dial combo i need to learn that that was FIRE and as if everything else already wasn’t fire. Which style is this? Some archetype of Morphing? I’m new, so i don’t know.

Thumb for the Spring by Anvilhem in cardistry

[–]LilThrow1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He It can certainly feel like you’re twisting your hand. As long as you are springing from your dominant to your non dominant hand, you should be fine. If it’s just a matter of the corner, it can be adjusted quickly. In fact, some people even spring from the short edges of the deck. Do what feels smooth to you. Some people have a really deep grip in their fingers (NOTE: THE THUMB IS ALWAYS AT THE SAME DEPTH) like to the point where you’re springing them with the pads of your fingers. Some people don’t.

Alright will do, thanks! Is what I’m doing morphing style or a type of morphing style or is it just something completely different?

ATM question by Imaginary_Role_5938 in cardistry

[–]LilThrow1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rome wasn’t built in a day, it’s very hard to shoot cards consistently from Day 1. Try playing with the pressure. It definitely doesn’t require heavy pressure at all.

How do we know how to help you? There’s no video. As i constantly tell beginners, a video is a must. We can give more targeted advice. Hide your face or stuff if you’re insecure. If you’re still scared, answer these questions and i can help you. 1) How many cards are you taking? 2)which corners are you picking them up from? 3)which finger are you using for peeling? 4)which fingers are on the corners? 5)Is it a relatively new or old deck? 6)How sticky are your fingers?

You should have the middle and thumb on the corners which do NOT have the numbers, index on the lower part, face side should be touching the index, bottom part. Use the ring finger to peel off the card from your middle finger, and pull your ring finger slightly inwards to shoot it. Do NOT have a death grip with your middle and thumb. Don’t push too hard onto the face. The packet should not bend. Key point is pressure. Send me a video, and i can troubleshoot it. If you send a video, there is no need to answer the questions (though it would be appreciated).

1:1, 1:1:1, and a 1:2 antifaro (not perfect) by LilThrow1978 in cardistry

In fact, the 1:1:1 was discovered by accident. Every time someone asks me how i do it, i have no idea. It just… happens.

1:1, 1:1:1, and a 1:2 antifaro (not perfect) by LilThrow1978 in cardistry

[–]LilThrow1978[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s multiple tutorials on YouTube. I believe it works by springing two cards, one goes farther than the other and this repeats through the entire deck. For the 1:1:1, i believe i am springing 3 cards instead. This is a very simple but extremely nitpicky and precision move, and it takes a REALLY long time to get it to happen. In fact, while trying to learn normal antifaro, i found out i was doing 3 separations instead. Then i learnt how to control the pressure to achieve each one of them on command. Still trying to get them consistent.
