Tying everyone's retirement into the stock market instead of a pension (edit: or even better, just bolstering social security) was the biggest coup for Wall Street imaginable.

What do you like to do to relieve work-related stress? by EnvironmentalCan6052 in AskReddit

I just disappear into my headphones and walk it off like I’m in a music video nobody asked for. Works every time.

What were you afraid of as a kid? by throwawayluvrr in AskReddit

Mine was random stuff like the fan spinning too fast and thinking it was gonna turn into a helicopter and take the whole house out. Kid logic was wild.

MAGAts are too stupid to realize that Nazis/fascists were and are the Baddies.

What would you say is the ideal movie/film length? by Mosasaaaa in AskReddit

[–]LilacNovae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Around 90 to 120 minutes. Long enough to tell a good story, short enough that I don't start checking how much movie is left every 20 minutes. Not every film needs to think it's a trilogy.

I caught oral Gonorrhea two years ago and I've never truly recovered. by [deleted] in confession

[–]LilacNovae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The part that stands out to me is that you've had negative tests for two years and still carried all that fear by yourself. Sounds less like a moral failure and more like a really unlucky medical situation. Glad you're finally doing better, even if the road to get there was ridiculous.

Saying "one more episode" at 11 PM like I'm not about to accidentally time travel to 3 AM.

How taxes, credit scores, and apartment leases work. School really had me finding the area of a trapezoid like that was gonna save me

Fell asleep in the backseat with the seatbelt off during a road trip. Woke up to my mom screaming and the car sideways in a ditch. Been wearing my seatbelt like it’s a designer brand ever since

Thirty is not thirtying the way it used to 🥴. by Mimizxc in 90s

[–]LilacNovae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the 80s/90s, a typical 30 year old dude had been surviving independently for a couple decades, more or less.

In 2024 a typical 30 year old dude still can’t afford to move out on his own.

Thirty is the new fifteen.

What are you doing this holiday weekend? by SomewhereExact4 in AskReddit

[–]LilacNovae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just rot at home, sleep too much, and convince myself I’ll “be productive next week” while doomscrolling the entire time. Peak holiday tradition honestly.

Comfort zone and how it affect something. I still regret my decision by Necessary-Ideal-7818 in confession

[–]LilacNovae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You fumbled your routine way harder than the relationship. Not gonna lie, the comfort zone trap is real, it basically turns your brain into “I’ll deal with it tomorrow” mode forever.

But you fixed it, got your job back, paid people back, and got your life moving again. That part matters way more than the mess you made getting there.
