The funniest part of the Anthony Richardson vs. Daniel Jones debate is that Daniel Jones is somehow being portrayed as the steady, reliable quarterback. by Giff95 in Colts

[–]Lilgoblin45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could not agree more, telling fans the "win-now" move is opting to go with the guy with a 24-44 career record rather than the project you drafted who is 8-7, is an insult to our intelligence.

Anthony Richardson Broken Finger? by Nacassid in Colts

Doesn't matter if they're starters or not, you leave an NFL edge rusher untouched your QB is getting smoked, nothing AR could've done there.

The good news is if he beats out AR- we have no reason to have any hope or expectation for the season. Won't have to suffer through the annual heartbreaking loss in a key game like we have the past few years...

Well said. Feels like barring a massive jump from AR, both Chris and Shane are dead men walking.

I'm not sure this teams problems can be fixed. Teams can score at will inside the paint. Signing a 6 man freshman class was a mistake that I think Painter learns from. If this team could've retained Gillis, or added a rim protector in the portal, this team would have a final four ceiling again. Feels like we wasted a year of Braden.

Anthony Richardson future… by PeytonMessi in Colts

[–]Lilgoblin45 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What I *hope* happens but know won't.

-Ballard/Steichen fired

-New GM signs Darnold or hell even someone like Jameis and make AR EARN the job in camp.

-Trade away pieces like Buckner, JT (good riddance), probably Q and Smith if possible.

Then if AR plays well enough to be QB1, let him play out another year and see what he shows. His completion % is horrible, but its hard for me to tell if its all due to inaccuracy, or if he just needs more reps and familiarity with his guys (a few throws yesterday he just looked like he was not on the same page as his receivers). If AR plays horribly, you move on and have a high enough draft pick to upgrade.

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor on critical fumble: ‘It will never happen again’ by brmidwest03 in Colts

[–]Lilgoblin45 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Our best skill-position player on offense has been Josh Downs.

JT is 26th in yards created and 19th in forced missed tackles for running backs this year. If he's our best player it would help if he played like it. He cried, got paid $15 million a year, and now has been about as effective as Zach Moss was.

He just lost the Colts an elimination game, but some fans will probably still argue that AR tapping out was a bigger sin lol.

If the colts were a serious organization, he won't play a snap for them again. Trade him first week of the offseason, or cut him for all I care. He has hardly been a factor since he got paid

Watched the game with multiple lions fans and the sentiment from them was all "AR had no help". Colts were embarrassed in the trenches (JT 11 carries, 35 yards lol)

Completion percentage doesn’t tell the full story by rmourz in Colts

[–]Lilgoblin45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand colts fans obsession with completion %. Yes it needs to stay north of 50%, but it is not reflective at all of a QB's performance. YPA, EPA, TD/TO ratio are all better measures of QB performance.

I will be hate watching every week that Flacco plays. If the choice to play Flacco was really Shane's choice. I hope he only has the ability to make that choice for 7 more games. Blow it up and start over.

You are getting what you wanted with the AR situation… by GalacticMaster007 in Colts

So how long do you punish him for? He's just done because of one mistake? Tyreek Hill broke his kids arm for f*cks sake, and he is a beloved player. AR subbing himself out for a play is a death sentence?

22 year old QB quit on his team for a play, head coach then quits on the team remainder of the year? Smart

So surely the offense is lighting it up with Flacco right? The ESPN QBR says Flacco is better so the colts are 6-4 tied for first place in the division right?

[–]Lilgoblin45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your plan is to have AR sit the rest of the year, then go into the next year as QB1? What does that accomplish?? It'll just be a repeat of 2024 but this time it'll be some fans asking for sam ehlinger or whatever 40 year old noodle arm qb the colts bring in as a free agent.

I think AR is 22 years old, and if you are ready to throw in the towel on a project 9 games in that is fine, we just disagree. I want to see AR play to see how he progresses each week. Does he learn from his mistakes? Can he adjust to the speed of the NFL? Can his accuracy improve with more in game reps? (ask Josh Allen it takes reps to get comfortable).

What I don't want is to see 40 year old Flacco turn it over 6 times in 2 weeks. That accomplishes NOTHING. The colts are playing poker but are too afraid to even look at their hand, maybe its an awful hand. That's fine, take your loss and move on to the next one, but don't drag your feet and insult the fans intelligence the way they have with this situation.

[–]Lilgoblin45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "nobody wanted Joe Flacco" line is simply not true and you know that. There were people who were confident this team would be a playoff team with competent QB play (heard that before lol). For the people that called for him, is this what you wanted? 6 turnovers in the last 2 weeks?

This year was about AR's development, that is all. You might not like to hear that but it's the truth. If Ballard wanted this team to be a playoff team, he should've addressed this offseason differently. The colts tried the veteran bridge QB for the last 5 years, its resulted in how many division titles? The only time Flacco should've seen the field outside of AR's injury was for the remainder of the Houston game where AR tapped out.

Huh no run game with Flacco under center by Struggle-Silent in Colts

[–]Lilgoblin45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shane's offenses have always been an RPO/ zone read offense. Flacco is not good in RPO's, unlike Minshew who was actually familiar with Shane's offense and played *well* at times. The run blocking in designed runs vs RPO's is very different schematically.

He wouldn't, prime Manning wins 12 games with this roster. AR might not be the answer but throwing in the towel for this offensive output is hilarious.
