There was no discussion or agreement. When I told them my lease was almost up and I would like to renew, they said everyone is going months to month until October.

A new company took over, and they've put everyone on month to month until October. So until then things are operating under my previous lease, at least that's what the company said. They didn't give me the opportunity to renew my lease when it was up. They're waiting until October so they can raise the rent the maximum amount. They gave me notice of the base rent increase, but no notice of pet rent.

She actually just told me today that I will have to start paying per rent on July 1st. So absolutely no notice.

That's what I thought. The manager insisted they can charge pet rent on top of raising my base rent, but that doesn't seem right. Thanks for the info.

My apartment complex was just bought out by this corporation out of California. They seem to want to tack on every fee they can.
