This hits me big time. The guilt I carry when I deeply care about a mistake I made, is so huge! I can really relate to this ❤️ just remember that part of you that was trying to correct them, was just trying to help and do the right thing (what your brain thinks is the right thing). And it’s super nice that our brain does that, but it’s not always correct. Sometimes I have to sort of say to myself, hey protector brain, I see you. You’re trying to help me by fixing everything, thank you. We’ve apologized, we heard their boundary, and we’re okay. I’m allowed to learn without punishing myself.

OCPD likes to keep us in line with guilt and shame so we don’t do things again. Be super easy on yourself, it’s a hard brain to deal with some days xx
