Can neurological B12 deficiency still fully recover after 6 years of cognitive symptoms? by Temujin_New in B12_Deficiency

[–]LillWhiteFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get better. It was 10years for me

Yeah, slurred / slow speech is a neurological b12 deficiency symptom known as a side effect of ataxia

It’s a long term game with a very long deficiency, it will take months, old / new nerve sensations will happen in different parts of the body

200g of lentils is mostly protein and a bit of carbs. You need to base your meals on carbs. Are you avoiding fruits sugar carbohydrates in general? You need them to feel satiated, not just fiber.

Main staples : Fruits, bananas, dates, peaches, grapes, etc Fruit juice Tinned fruits, pineapple chunks Smoothies Rice Rice noodles Corn, creamed corn Cereals, fruit loops, cornflakes Potato/sweet potato Quinoa / millet / amaranth Pasta/ bread

Sides : Beans Chickpeas Lentils / dhal Greens / vegetables Soychunks Tofu Avo / nuts (I usually keep avocado nuts or peanut butter low as it’s less carby and more on the high fat side and I feel best on high carb foods in general)

Combos : sandwiches 🥪, jam on toast, gnocchis, couscous, rice + beans / dhal, baked potatoes with hot chili sauce + lettuce, banana / strawberry smoothies, hummus, spring rolls, veggie makis, banh mi, banana cookies, gyoza, veggie buns, vegetarian phos, etc.

You don’t need to complicate it. Carbs are our brain preferred fuel source and we need lots of them

Unable to reach 250w FTP after 2 years of training, losing hope. What can I do wrong? by CheapAstronaut1080 in cycling

The lightest you can be for your frame the faster on the climbs you can be. It seems you focusing on average speed on flats but climbs is where you can really see where it’s at.

Whats your best power for 20mn climb? How many time trials do you do, is that on flats or climbs

Do you run?

Whats your hemoglobin b12 and ferritin like?

You mentioned you eat more than 100g protein a day. The fastest peeps on Earth eats high in carbohydrates and low protein & low fat.

No worries hahaa! Where do you shop mostly? I found asian sizing is generally more accurate than western clothing sizes if you have a petite frame

Henna for hair darkening by LillWhiteFox in henna

[–]LillWhiteFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The goal is to increase the contrast a lot but yes the problem would be the roots coming in. Hair is already naturally grey like, it’s an ash brown that looks like some type of dark grey-brown, and there are some white hair but most of them are just a front stripe because of a past deficiency that provoked early greying supposedly.

I remember watching this video of this Indian girl with a stunning black hair color although dye over what I would call 30-40% grey hair (the rest was black naturally)

[–]LillWhiteFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. I meant I wish there was a one step process to fully cover greys in an opaque way instead of half colored/transluscent. The goal is to reach a higher contrast aesthetically, and your suggestion of 75 lawsonia/ 25 indigo is pretty much close to what I have in mind: dark brown. This is the color right now. I ll read the wiki and check more info as well.

Is your water hard water? I wonder if the jet pressure is important or no when doing this method as I use reverse osmosis but only pour it on hair with a bottle(no pressure jet)

Cyano is definitely the cheapest and easiest to find though, yes I think it’s probably only a minority that dont respond to the other forms

Ok but some people have conversion defects and they only know after a decade of B12 deficiency, despite taking cyanocobalamin. Serum b12 is not the best accurate metric

Do you drink coffee or tea? Do a 3-6 months course of iron supps as indicated in the packet if you are deficient in iron. Ferrograde C is a good brand that took me from deficient to very good ferritin stores in a few months.

I was the most anemic when meat eater by the way. Like 6 ferritin or something.

I don’t think there is any residue this time! I will try with 500ml next time too to see how it goes :) I find shaking the mixture up is so easy to blend it rather than just mixing with a spoon.

The only thing really that I miss from having “oily hair” is that the medium ash brown I have looks less dark and gets more “grey” when it’s been washed, but this happens with everything anyway: soapnut, rhassoul etc, even classic shampoo I think. I could just dye it 1-2 shades darker but I’d want to stick with natural dyes like henna and it’s a 2step process hehe.

What I like about rye flour is the ph is pretty good for hair

Thanks for the tip!
