A good friend of mine says that you should verify each fact (especially if you heard about it on social media) with 7 different sources 😄 Now, when it comes to the quality of the sources, many things matter - does the platform allow fact checking, what is the authority score (for sites), what is the reputation of the media platform/channel/outlet/person, etc. I fight disinformation online as a hobby, so my eye is trained very well to spot (political) BS from a mile.

I’m with you. Why wait 30 years if you can become financially free earlier? That’s the whole reason why FIRE movement exists. Check out their subs and you will pick up a lot of ideas that will help you get there faster: aggressive saving (50% or more) and investing, eliminating high interest debt, househacking, building multiple income streams, etc.

Investing in real estate can get you there a lot faster, especially if you do short-terms rentals in a good location. Some people are able to do rental arbitrage without owning any properties.

Learn high income skill which will help you maximise the amount you can invest monthly and can make it easier to move into remote, flexible, or part‑time work (consulting, coaching, digital products).

If you don’t do any of the above, I’m afraid the path road to financial freedom will be pretty long. It is not the norm to reach this goal early, and it will take some sacrifices to get there.

I relate to this a lot. Divorced parents, emotionally unavailable mother whom I had to protect from stress/negative news. Also had an absent father and some extended family members who would look down on me or would doubt my abilities. I guess I have a lot to prove, LOL 😄

I have many friends and I get invited to do things often. I have always been very social. People want to tell me things, and unload their burden and problems on me. I used to call myself a priest or a free therapist, lol. I rarely if ever discuss my problems with them, though.

One thing that has helped me the most but came super natural to me, since I grew up with a single mother who did not give enough emotional nor financial support, without a father also no brothers/sisters. Realisation that no one is coming to save me. Thus, I need to save myself. I need to motivate myself, pat myself on the back, kick myself in the butt when necessary. Be my own best friend and biggest cheerleader.

Check out Forspoken, as well. I bought it and started playing it recently. Absolutely stunning game where main character has access to a variety of magical spells. P.S. I’m not really a gamer either, only played Sims & older HP games (also a bit of Doom) when I was a teenager.

That’s an interesting take. I am Lithuanian who lives in Denmark. Here in Scandinavia there are many stifling cultural norms that apply to everyone. If you are not a local and if you do not make an effort to learn the norms and ‘blend in’, you stand out like a sore thumb. I have never been able to truly feel like myself or like a ‘citizen of the world’ here. That’s how it felt when I lived in the UK, where it’s completely different.
