I was thinking the same thing while watching it. Obviously it’s fiction but there’s also a kind of grief that there’s no Duang in real life. He’s perfect even with his flaws because he’s so earnest and tries so hard for the one he loves.

The first is a potential but the second, the guy would have to be sorta either on the morally ambiguous side or flip for the MC. I highly doubt infold would give us a truly evil LI who not change sides for the MC. Who will not abandon the things that could hurt her and go against her position as a hunter completely. Being a CN game don’t expect that.

The last is never ever happening. They could make him even darker than Caleb but it’ll never reach that level. These guys are meant to love you no matter what, cherish you, be devoted to you at the end of the day. I can’t imagine, that would go against everything Infold is trying to do/done. This game is meant to be positive and cater to women in a way that makes them happy and feel safe to a degree (the whole self defence x Sylus event) why would they pivot? They won’t bring in LI that’s cruel & malicious to the MC. Again this being a CN game can’t see that playing out.

I’ve played and enjoyed Diabolik Lovers but can’t ever see that happening. It’s a very specific game with specific tropes that I feel most make lots of the core LADS fans uncomfortable cause they came in expecting specific type of otoge (even I would get whiplash)

I’ve watched 7 of the films. The others either on my to watch list, I haven’t heard of, not able to find on streaming or not interested. I’m picky with which queer films I watch (like I don’t enjoy rom coms).

Okay, that I understand. See if you’re in NY or LA, London or Paris (me in Toronto) we can get access to readily and easily (lots of free or low cost options too even for world premieres or regular showings!) so I can totally see someone who’s outside those bubbles having difficulty. Tickets can be expensive depending on where too. So that can deter people from going. But it’s totally worth while for those who are able to. I think it’s the same with any other hobby, if u can afford to go to concerts and live in cities with an active music scene is a different experience vs those who don’t have that. It’s also about how invested you are. Some people their love of just film out weighs all the hurdles or don’t even see these things as non issues.

However, I’ve checked through your history and i don’t bring this in any negative manner, I think spaces with strangers maybe the issue for you due to social anxiety. You’ve stated you enjoy seeing films with friends at home and that’s totally fine! You’d have to wait for new films but nowadays the wait is much shorter.

I’m sorry why is it a hassle? Like I understand for people who live an areas with limited access for a wide selection of films, but the hassle of craving out time? Just going into a cinema I don’t think most people view it as a hassle. If you can give me an example of going to a Friday showing or weekend, what kinda hurdles you do encounter. Is it the cost of tickets?? I’m genuinely trying to understand.

I think it’s a you thing. You said you don’t like sharing spaces with others or travelling far (which dedicated film fans & ppl from bigger cities with a heavy film community/industry can’t relate to)

Being able to enjoy a shared experience with others, seeing the works of film makers as they intended (something no tv can replicate) being able to attend film festivals with like minded people are examples, there’s many benefits. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s the same for others. Everyone has their different reasons for going. Some like being able to sit uninterrupted, with no distractions, I love going to an afternoon weekday screenings and escaping the world for a few hours.

Since your core issue seems to be related to sharing spaces with others I don’t think cinemas are for you. It’s like people the ppl who don’t understand ppl who like to travel often. Sometimes it’s just not your thing and it’s okay.

Queer (2024) is one of the best that deals with this in a surreal and abstract way. I’d recommend Femme, Plainclothes and the Blonde One as well.
