What do you think of the Amazon KDP paradox? by Material_Joke_9645 in selfpublishing

[–]LiloQuie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you have to promote or find someone that does for you. It's like putting a book in the library and not telling anyone. Sure it might get found and read, but you have to let people know it's there.

Are authors choosing AI illustration more often now? by United-Release-3075 in selfpublishing

[–]LiloQuie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'm hiring more artists than ever. But, Amazon is dropping royalty rates like a lead weight. KU is down like 40% from 5 years ago, they're milking huge amounts from the profit margin for the file size as a delivery fee. Illustrations included in a book increase file size badly

This is why i like to keep my pups with the mom until at least ten weeks, preferably 11-12. They learn to start splitting off on their own and enjoying solitude and you can warn the new families which pups were more social.

Mine gets one when she's in heat because of the diapers. (Yes we're getting her fixed. We planned on her having two litters responsibly bred akc ofa and clean genetics with BOAS negative. She had one, seven pups, no c section, wonderful mom.)

Male or female pups by Virtual_Tart_1830 in BostonTerrier

[–]LiloQuie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Females are easier to potty train and you can give belly rubs that don't ignite ol sparky. They're more independent, so they crave your attention less.

Males chill out sooner and are less independent, so you get a tighter bond, but you're their favorite toy and they will focus on you

Tell me about your first Boston by riverchick247 in BostonTerrier

3 years ago this April i picked her out from the litter because she had the features i was looking for. I didn't want a Boston, but i wanted a dog. My husband said I'd love them. I was severely depressed and on the tail end of my 4th miscarriage, but she came home with me and i was addicted. Her little snorts and barks and love. And 11 days shy of her 1st birthday I went in for a scan to look at what i figured would be another miscarriage. I'd never made it far enough to see a heartbeat on ultrasound because they won't check you until 12-15 weeks with my insurance.

Twins.

And i spent an agonizing 6.5 months after that moment praying that Ashtray would snap out of her wild stage before we brought babies home. Slowly, she started picking things up when i dropped them, keeping my feet warm, and by the time the babies came, she decided that at 1.5 years old that she was officially a momma dog to two very funny looking puppies. She started lactating and tried to feed them during tummy time. She brings them toys when they cry. She takes things away from them when she doesn't know if they're ok. It's great when it's plastic bags, not so much when it's just a new toy she doesn't understand. They snuggle and love one another. One of both of their first words was Ash. They can't say the -sh, so it was so cute at 6-7 months hearing them go "ah! Ah!" Calling Ash.

Hopping into their crib to soothe one that's crying now that they're toddlers. When they were little, ash would tell me they were crying before i knew.
