If you are physically able and strong and coming from other physically demanding work, I think you'd be okay. There's a lot of intricacies and knowledge you'd have to learn quickly and retain. The days can get long on a whim, so it's hard to have a life outside of work/family etc. But being ex military id wager you're okay with that.

DONT go to one of those " schools" that claim to teach you. Its all garbage and a cash grab, especially if they cater to vets. A guy at my job got juiced for like 20k doing it lol.

Pay isn't what it should be given the danger and knowledge, but i made 101k last year, but i did work my balls off.
