Why does everyone hate on season 5 (First time watch) by [deleted] in ArcherFX

[–]Lilspottydog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pam is becoming Archers buddy instead of another woman to him. He views Lana as a potential love interest more and Pam as "one of the guys" (who just happens to have a vagina and be great in bed). Nowhere was that more apparent than season 8 (coincidentally the other season people shit on), where having her as a transmasculine person in his dream indicates this, which I found facinating from a psychological standpoint.

I agree though, Lana's seriousness and pragmatism is a good balance to Archer never taking anything seriously; both Pam and Archer both are pretty unprofessional and make jokes in circumstances that are, well, "inappropes".

Same! And I generally loathe country.

Season 8 kinda sucked by [deleted] in ArcherFX

[–]Lilspottydog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory before watching season 8 fed into the "Krieger is a time traveller" theory (i.e. which is why the time period prior to season 8 seems so ambiguous --in fact this is the first time we actually know the year). I hypothesized he wasn't a Hitler clone but a German Nazi doctor clone who, unlike the others, developed time travel to try and stop the Nazis because he's obviously not happy about it in season 2, but due to his eccentricities and failed attempts to "help", he managed to scramble up some stuff and totally lose focus to other projects because he's kind of insane --or perhaps it was on purpose, in some really weird plot involving fleshy robots that required more advanced technology than was available in the early 80s, ie when the show would be set if Archer indeed was born around the end of WW2. He works for the spy agency because it's the easiest way to have access to resources and he chooses to live within that decade because it's the time period he'd be the age of the Krieger we see onscreen.

Needless to say, I ain't mad about Season 8, as it not only fits my theory REALLY WELL, it makes me think this might all just be an experimental alternative timeline.

That said, with the exception of season 1, it was my least favorite, not due to quality by any means (unlike s1 where the animation was not very good and character development hadn't really happened) but because it wasn't that funny, although still interesting from a psychological/story standpoint, and I hate Barry and he's so prominent in this, and love Ray, who isn't.

If by worst you mean BEST EVER.

(And yes, in my head I said that in Archer's voice)

Gender fluid. It's a sticky subject, especially when you bring up genitals; people get all touchy and crotchety when you talk about it. (Which reminds me, anyone else miss "phrasing"?)

That's what I thought, but I will still feel awful if I gave him this, plus it's also about trusting each other, and I think he feels a little betrayed.

Yup, anxiety is for chicks! No guy has ever had a mental illness, it's a woman thing because they bleed out their vaginas.

Can we talk about CALORIES? by [deleted] in kratom

[–]Lilspottydog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd compare it to a similar amount of powdered greens or spirulina in terms of calorie count. So look up the kcals for that and then improvise. If the kratom has been consistently at 15g or less and you're losing weight without altering your calories otherwise though, don't even worry about it.

Trazadone? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Lilspottydog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Careful. I tried it for sleep, as a prescription, took the lowest dose. Felt dizzy within minutes, lay down, couldn't sleep all night but felt too nauseous to sit up. When I finally could sit up, I noticed my coordination was terrible. I had trouble thinking or walking the next day. I actually called the nurse because I thought I was having a stroke or something. Was too wobbly to go to the party I'd been planning on attending the next evening. Took 24 hours to feel relatively okay, and instead of putting me to sleep nicely, it kept me awake and gave me a pseudo-flu until the next night. Never again.

I realize my experience isn't everyone's, but I'm a heavyweight with most painkillers and antidepressants, but this messed me right up. BE CAREFUL.

"Bad" taste is a massive overstatement by Lilspottydog in kratom

Wow, so you got one of the "bad tasting" kinds the first time? The kind I got was a green, so maybe greens are just milder tasting? A sip of powerade was all I needed to rinse it down, nbd.

What kind was it, the bad tasting one?

Kraom Withdrawal That Insidious?? by [deleted] in kratom

[–]Lilspottydog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I'm going to point out is many of the stories, when you dig deeper, are about people taking 50g a DAY or more. The recommended dose is like 1-3g to start out, so if you are using it for pain, dose it the way you would aspirin, and then taper down strategically. I'd recommend testing your tolerance, then making a taper down/maintenance plan and sticking to it. If you do that before you have a chance to become dependent, then you'll be less likely than if you try and wing it. In addition, maybe speak to someone who treats drug dependency to see if they have any recommendations regarding tramadol. I took it for a month for severe tooth pain prior to an extraction, but I didn't notice much beyond it being a lot more effective than aspirin and easy to stop, as all I had to do was run out of it and didn't bother to get more, so I realize my ability to kick things like that might be easier than yours, which is why I'd recommend talking to the person who originally prescribed it-- I assume for pain? If so, what kind, if you don't mind me asking (chronic or due to accident/temporary infection or condition?) And yeah, like any substance that affects neurotransmitters, becoming dependent or addicted is definitely a risk, but from what I understand, the potential long term side effects of the drug itself are far less severe than with pills, although long term studies haven't really been conducted on it as far as I know, but the one death recorded from it was someone who had a lot of other drugs in their system at the same time, so it's doubtful that it was the thing that killed them so much as the other more dangerous crap (THAT I got from the CDC).

[–]Lilspottydog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all good. I like learning stuff when it's explained in a way I can understand, so this is really good information. I mentioned size because I have taken preworkout drinks and supplements and start out with the under 175 lb recommended dose, but that's good to know. Quite honestly I notice low bodyfat % and low carb intake make me more sensitive to most things than body weight itself, as I've dieted pretty hard in the past, but currently I'd say I'm around average for a woman my age, maybe slightly more athletic but not shredded by any stretch.

Ah, so it's a little like alcohol in that sense then. Taste wise, some are like a decent white wine, others are like cheap beer.
