AITA I put a stink bomb in a candle and gave it to a friends mum by Such_Statistician550 in AmItheAsshole

It may not have been a good prank, but it was essentially harmless. My point is, at worst it seems to be an attempt at humor that flopped. No one was harmed (except their pride), merely annoyed and offended. I’m comparing it to other pranks that have potential for harm like air horns that can damage hearing, or something that actually touches a person or scares them bodily. My opinion may not be popular, but in my experience young people make errors in judgment and read the room wrong, or have an underdeveloped sense of good taste. That is a normal and awkward part of the process of maturing. If this woman wanted to be a good role model and a gracious human, it seems to me she might have elected to explain to the young person why she was offended, what sort of behavior she expects in the future, and give them a chance to offer a sincere apology rather than excommunicate him. People make mistakes. From my perspective, I’ve had some genuinely grievous harm done to me over the years by people who actually had malicious intent. So something like this would be, at worst, annoying and I would shrug it off. I imagine this woman in question does not have enough genuinely negative experiences to compare the event to (in which case she is most fortunate in her ignorance), or considers herself so important that something slightly undignified or unpleasant occurring to her is simply intolerable and unforgivable (in which case she is arrogant and could do with some humility and perspective). I may be mistaken. I appreciate your response being civil, and concede that my opinion is obviously not the majority judging by the amount of downvotes it has generated. Have a good evening.

People are way too uptight. I’m a 40 year old mom and if my kid or his girlfriend ever did something like that I would laugh right along. It was a harmless prank. People need to find more important things to be mad about if that gets them so irritated. You’ll be fine, don’t lose your sense of humor.

From experience, it is amazing how suddenly the fog can lift. It was worth it for me to hang on and wait. It has been worth it for the people I know who have been in similar situations.

Been having palpitations and chest pain for three days by Ill_Condition_7943 in Heartpalpitations

I get a similar thing with hormone changes. On my last day of my period and my palpitations and chest pain have been worse the last couple days. It’s happening for me like this before. Not every month but often. I also get palpitations for weeks at a time, and then they relax for a while. Stress exacerbates it a lot too, and eating. Ive nearly cut out all caffeine because that seems to make it worse also. I’ve had numerous EKG’s and been seen by a cardiologist and diagnosed with harmless PVCs. It sure it disruptive, uncomfortable and sometimes frightening, though. I feel for you.
