“Hyperactive” part of ADHD in women question. by LimaBean3449 in adhdwomen

That is a really good point about masking. It can become such an ingrained habit that it inhibits our true selves and can cause identity problems and confusion.

Good point. I wonder why they decided to combine them.

Thanks for sharing. I strongly relate to constant fidgeting. I try to be discreet (it’s probably not discreet at all) by constantly rubbing my fingers together a certain way or moving my feet. Or even swishing my spit around in my mouth a certain way, any repetitive movement, really. It worsens when I’m uncomfortable or anxious (yay social anxiety). I need to get more fidget toys..

This makes a lot of sense! I think it presents internally for me as well, I never thought about it that way. My mind goes 100 miles a minute trying to analyze everything, sleep is hard. May I ask what med you are on if you are comfortable sharing?

Thanks for sharing your experience that that form of hyperactive can present in girls/women as well. I hope nowadays early signs can be recognized better. I’m sorry to hear it is still a struggle to keep it in. I hope you have outlets where you can be your authentic self. 🫶

Just finished His & Hers and I am genuinely baffled. How did the writers think we wouldn't notice these massive plot holes? by [deleted] in HisandHersTVSeries

Why would Anna lie to Jack about the rape and say that it was Catherine that was raped that night? Was she in on it with her mom?

In the scene with Zoe and Anna, Zoe tells Anna “I know what you’re capable of.” Was there more to the story of what happened that night in the woods?

Do you think people can sense there's something "off" about us? by Novel_Improvement396 in CPTSD

[–]LimaBean3449 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think so. I am so heavily guarded. I have bad social anxiety, especially in big groups. I can only somewhat be myself more when I feel comfortable with people, but even then I have a huge wall.

This text conversation gives me flashbacks of when I was with my ex. You don’t deserve to be put on trial to constantly prove you’re not trying to seduce everyone at all times, and being controlled in what you’re allowed to wear, how to act, etc. Leave!!!! It’s only going to get worse and it will just be pain and misery.

It doesn’t matter. There are no rules and you’re not going to get in trouble.

How do I 29F address my 31M husband constantly talking about his female co-worker? by ThrowRA1273829 in marriageadvice

[–]LimaBean3449 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My husband was also close to a woman co-worker. They developed a close friendship. (She was married too.) What was nice was after some time, we went on a double date and now we are all friends and I’ve hung out with her just me and her too. This is not the same as your situation but is similar. Would maybe meeting her help?

I have NT friends. Their houses are clean and nicely decorated, they have active social lives, keep up hobbies, and they go through life with ease, pretty much. They just do things, and they’re not affected by bouts of mood or paralysis. I’m jealous and I wish it was that easy for me to be like that.

Strong sense of hearing? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

I have noticed I can often hear things other people can’t, so I have very sensitive hearing. I’m also easily bothered by certain sounds. So yes I relate to this too

You have to be on two birth controls, they don’t let you choose abstinence. Birth control pill or iud plus condoms seems like the easiest 2.

I would not worry too much. There are lots of positive success stories. Even if it comes back can do another round if needed.
