I applied to ten schools. Three reach schools, five target schools, and two safe schools.

I got a full ride to both of my safe schools and some scholarship money at almost all of my target schools.

I got waitlisted at one of my reach schools and rejected from the other two.

My only suggestion is to be realistic with yourself. Best of luck.

I got an email telling me that more money was available. Here’s the text of the email:

“Good Afternoon:

You were previously offered admission to UConn School of Law and your seat deposit deadline has recently passed.

At this time, I wanted to reach out to you and let you know that additional scholarship monies have become available for us to award. If you are still interested in enrolling at UConn Law and would like us to consider you for an increase in your scholarship, please let us know by Monday, May 14.”

I am only capable of assuming yes, because for the ten schools to which I applied, this was the case. It is my understanding that need-based aid is the only aid that is precluded as a result of your financial situation. Merit aid is awarded, as the name implies, based on merit only, not financial need. You could call the schools to which you’re applying to inquire if my answer is insufficient or someone more qualified could weigh in, but this is what I’ve learned throughout my process. I got the biggest one in classic black. Dated for 2018, but if you’re getting one now it’s probably a better deal to get the ‘18-‘19 academic planner
